After purchasing T1 a few weeks back and getting helpful advice here, I went into the 'basement' to learn and experiment with Tracktion. Now I'd like to get into the making of music part and am looking for feedback.

The genre will be Alternative and some Country. Both require good guitar sounds. I will be playing bass parts with my bass through the M-Audio Fast track device, into Tracktion. But I need good acoustic/lead guitar VST. I downloaded the RealGuitar Demo from Musiclab and created some simple stuff. The creation of chords was slow, but I came across (from MusicLab also) a VST called Rhythm'n'Chords which seemed to make entering chords alot easier. Anybody use that or know if it works with Tracktion? Also, any recommendations on Synths that produce good lead guitar sounds?

I also downloaded a demo for Fruity Loops as I was looking for an easy way (seems to be a trend here :) ) to make drum patterns. I was thinking of purchasing it, the express version, but wanted input as to whether its overkill for me as I'm not creating dance or electronica and don't need complex drum patterns. Should I just work with something like Stepchild and one of the free Drum synths out there and save the money?

maybe in a week or two I'll actually figure out how to use the MIDI editor for progam changes :-o

thanks in advance

Revitar is a very strong guitar VSTi, Manystation offers very good guitar samples.

T2 will ship with Slayer2, while not perfect can be convincing depending on the context. Also Amplitube for your real guitars.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

you can allways use the free gsuite http://www.simulanalog.org/GSuite.zip

it sounds more realistic than nearly all other stuff out there.

Drums - try the demo of Jamstix from www.rayzoon.com - very flexible and straightforward to use imo.

Aldi -- I completely agree! The only thing I can't figure out is how I can record myself playing while hearing the vst? Is this possible at all or will it always sound clean when its time to record?

Thanks,

enable 'end-to-end' by clicking the input icon and then making the appropriate change in the property panel that appears at the bottom; also, e-to-e must be enabled near the transport controls (bottom right area).
