Also remember hitting F5 and F8 combined if you ever want to zoom out full again really fast.semiquaver wrote:I don't want to change it - just set it very small and leave it there so I don't have to zoom in for each tweak. - though its not the end of the world now that you mention it - zooming is kind of fun.

i totaly agree!!AD80 wrote:scroll wheel to zoom. Its so fast (not to mention fun) to zoom in with the scroll wheel, make small changes and zoom out, its about a million times better than having to constantly change the snap value to diffrent things.
its lots of fun for me because i have 4D zooming maped to my BCR2000 midi controll unit
& i would NEVER want to lose the way it is now!
but as a added option i would use this alot

No, not a lockable snap value. Thats another feature.AD80 wrote:What would be the advantage to this? Just curious. Are you guys talking about having a lockable snap value?
The advantage is that I know what (grid) division it is, no matter if I zoom in or out. As it is now, the division changes when zooming, and it´s confusing.

Maybe the problem is that the snap is a too big for my taste relative to the screen size -- I begin to see the virtue in the current arrangement ie calibrating the snap to the zoom level, but perhaps it should always be half what it is now...

hmmm... that may be... I find I have to zoom in because he snap is too big, not because I cannot see, so I think half would be about rightsemiquaver wrote:Maybe the problem is that the snap is a too big for my taste relative to the screen size -- I begin to see the virtue in the current arrangement ie calibrating the snap to the zoom level, but perhaps it should always be half what it is now...

I wonder if it would be too hard to make that adjustable. Sounds like a good option to me.semiquaver wrote:Maybe the problem is that the snap is a too big for my taste relative to the screen size -- I begin to see the virtue in the current arrangement ie calibrating the snap to the zoom level, but perhaps it should always be half what it is now...

I have that in Musys, the freebie from Computer Music magazine.
I'd call it a much-needed addition.
Also copy & paste midi notes.

You just Alt-drag the notes you want to select and then move them as a collective whole.
Anti-aliasing is for "synthmonk%ys".

yeah, that's a nice thing about tracktion... but! ext has this feature, and one nice thing is that you can snap to triplets. can't snap to triplets in tracktion.I'm convinced that people that want to change snap values constantly dont use their scroll wheel to zoom. Its so fast (not to mention fun) to zoom in with the scroll wheel, make small changes and zoom out, its about a million times better than having to constantly change the snap value to diffrent things.

This is exactly how I feel. Always knowing which line is the down beat, up beat, etc greatly facilitates drum programming - as I've learned from using Live.Mikael Adle wrote: The advantage is that I know what (grid) division it is, no matter if I zoom in or out. Big up to this request -- corresponding strongly in my mind with the post about zero-note-length "drum diamonds" http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... t=diamonds.

Doesn't Tracktion snap to triplets if you set the "triplets" option in tempo properties? I never use snap, but it "triplets" does draw triplet grid divisions. I assumes it snaps to them.bernhardtjeff wrote:one nice thing is that you can snap to triplets. can't snap to triplets in tracktion.
