. With the release of Vegas 6 (not much of an upgrade, except for video preview on secondary DVI monitor and VST effect support
, too much to pass up)and my recent GPO order, I'll be broke 'til end of summer.
Could you please postpone all T2 post 'til then please

No way. I'd rather pay your upgrade than have it postboned
But seriously, I do hope the price is reasonable, as Mackie haven't given us much chances to plan the updgrade "financially".

To be honest, I really wouldn't mind upgrading today, I've almost finished my huge, non-music projects, and musical ideas are flowing... coincidentally some of these ideas feature a guitar synth and a full-fledged drum sampler

Ok mackie, bring it on. I just spent some time with the new Vegas 6 demo, and it's a pile of s**t and I won't be "upgrading" that so I got the fund now.
So what are you waiting for, I want it yesterday

Did I remember correctly that you own Audition? If so I should have thought that Adobe would be better for you, because AA1.5 has very tight integration with Premier.AD80 wrote:OT: Can you go into more detail on Vegas 6? I'm debating wether to go with Sony or Adobe for my video solution

Right, its also integrated with Photoshop, and Illustrator better (suposedly). But the last version of Premier I used (this was many years ago) was probably one of the most unstable apps I ever used. I heard good things about Vegas too, so I'm just trying to compare them.headquest wrote:Did I remember correctly that you own Audition? But you make a good point. I should try to stay with Adobe, especially now that they bought Macromedia.

Personnaly, I think Vegas 5 was the best thing that ever happened to software, period. No other NLE can touch it for audio work, and I'm including Avid and Finalcut in the comparaison here, and video editing is stellar compared to Premiere; When I moved from Premiere to vegas I figured I cut my editing time in half, no kidding.AD80 wrote:OT: Can you go into more detail on Vegas 6? It's just that the new version 6 is relying on a bunch of Window component, mysql, dx9 and other shits like that, that made my sytem very unstable and I figured that I would need about a week of working on my system before it got stable again and I didn't want to do that in the middle of a project.
If you can put your hand on Vegas 5 though, and store should still have some in stock, it really is a dream to work with.
[edit] Oh, and about the Adobe thing, Vegas can import .psd file natively, as well as .tiff and .tga, including transparency, so there's not much benefit to staying Adobe all the way; unless you use AfterEffect of course.
