Aftertouch/Plug in issues

I set aside the whole day yesterday to record with Tracktion. There are a few bugs that I found:

- When working with the R66 reverb, the plug-in cannot be found when re-opening a project.

- The Princeton Roomverb does not work at all...the track simply goes dead, producing no sound.

My only other peave, which might actually prevent me from switching to Tracktion entirely, is the lack of aftertouch...I use it heavily in my synth playing (I use it to control modulation instead of the wheel).

Other than that I must say I am simply blown away by Tracktion. A few minor tweaks and I will be ditching Nuendo, which I'd say is a pretty amazing accomplishment and a credit to the programmer.

weird ... T2 finds it fine here - i just get the registration box appear each time ... do you have this issue with any other plugins ???

hmmmnnn ... works fine here (although there was a slight delay before it intially began processing audio and producing output)

this is a well-documented request (you may have noticed that while the aftertouch isnt recorded T2 DOES respond to it as you play ... i believe its on the list to remedy this ...

yup ... considering jules is still (AFAIK) flying pretty much solo on T2 development its a BIG achievement ... welcome aboard (hopefully) !!!

ithink there is a workaround for this, someone released a vst filter that you plop at the begining before your synth and it transforms aftertouvh into breath control data...can't remember the name of it though :help:
Nobody's a nobody...

Far from ideal, but can be used in a pinch!

Hi Pethu,

After searching the boards I found where you mentioned this. This workaround will definitely help make Tracktion my primary host...thanks very much for this!

I am still confounded at losing R66 every time I restart a project. I get a yellow exclamation point on the filter and the message "Error - The VST plug-in didn't initialize correctly".

hmmmnnn ... thats different to it not being found though ... tracktion is finding the plugin OK but cant start it ...

... obvious thing is to uninstall / reinstall R66 and see if that helps ...

(dont forget to do a FULL plugin scan afterwards too i guess)

Maybe it has to do with the plug-ins preset? Try changine it, save your edit, relaunch T and see what happens.

Thanks for all your suggestions and I tried them all. What finally resolved it was restarting my machine, although it might have taken that AND a combination of reinstalling it, restarting T, etc. At this point I think I am 100% sold on Tracktion! And I'm very excited about it. I'll be sure to post the song I'm working on with it as soon as it's done. (That is, if there are any prog rock fans on the board).

Thanks again and maybe this thread will be a useful reference for anyone who has this problem in the future.

glad you have it sorted ...

... welcome to the family tracktion !!!

BTW, my problem with Princeton was that I did not see the dry and wet levels at the very bottom of the interface, so that wraps up all of the issues so far!

Done! I think that "Aftertouch/Plug-in issues" should lead anyone here who could use the info.
