My main problem with automation isn't that it is not clip based. If I move a clip I can cut/paste the automation easily enough.
The REAL problem is when you decide to change the tempo of your song. The midi clips will lengthen or shorten accordingly, but the automation will remain the same.
You will have to move each point by hand.
I just spent an entire day fixing the automation on one song and I still come across automation tracks that I overlooked and have to fix.
Some of the automation is too complex to fix and will need to be redone by live tweaking.
Tracktion obviously knows where all automation points are because they are saved and are always where they belong when you open a song, so it should be an easy thing for it to move these points when the songs tempo is changed.
Aren't they already locked to the timing grid?

I hope this fix can find it's way into T1 as I won't be able to use T2 until I buy a new computer and get win XP for it. That could be a while. I tried the T2 demo on my win 98se machine and it won't open.
