Lots of interresting points here, but I think that a realistic goal is to achieve useful and convincing Fender like clean or crunchy tones and not to emulate Stevie's tone exactly. His tone was not the same during the years and there are drastical differences between studio albums and live.
I think Midiworks should try to give us some cleaner examples to let us judge how well his plugin works with non distorted sounds. If the sound is convincing it will be a success. Don't expect to hear the exact SRV tone here guys (don't forget that it's me playing these takes not :hail: SRV himself).

@Sascha: I know about his .13 set but I don't play that frequently these days so my .11 E flat is OK for me. .13 would be to much for my poor fingers ...

yes, that's a safe setting. I use it for my RME Hammerfall and Echo Indigo io also. that's 12 ms. a little high for real time.

I would love to check out your plug in one day. best of luck with it!

Latency is 256 samples (6 ms at 44.1kHz) ;)

Let me add that it feels 100% natural when played !

While 12ms (512 samples at 44.1kHz),
were not acceptable.
(sure tried that too)

256 samples means 6 ms on input + 6 ms on output, 12 ms in total. add about 4 extra ms for the adda convertion... about 14 ms in total ;)

Marco is correct, latency allways doubles for realtime audio processing.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Post

Ya, but as long as it feels 100% natural when played, I dont worry !

Anyway optional I can offer a 128 sample latency, even 64. ;)
But this is going to use much more cpu !!!

Best you try the demo when available.

Like it is now I feel its perfect. :)

I am not a fan of heavy distortion so perhaps this is OT. But, if you need more riffs, I can do some John Scofield and Mike Stern-like lines to help refine the Jazz-fusion side of this plugin.

Yes Gordon, this would be great !
But please dont use any preamp. ;)

Thanks :)

Here is a quick run through some pseudo-John Scofield and Mike Stern stuff - straight into my soundcard - Ibanez Artist AS80 model circa 1986 (ES335 copy - very similar to Sco' guitar except mine is cherry and has dot fretboard). I hope it is useful.

Hallo Midiworks,
the sounds of your upcoming plugin are really good. Is this a Synthedit creation ?

Was my file any use. It was prtty sloppy. Should I try again?

OK I don't want to be the spoiler here but I think it's important to say what I think so Midiworks gets the right feedback from all people.

In my opinion the clean sounds are bad.
They are thin and sound as if they come from the nose.

The dirty sounds are much better but I have not heard any demos of the sound I am looking for.
That is a fat overdriven tube sound with some distortion but not too much.

Thanks Beardedone, yes that is a nice and usefull take.:)

Sorry fo the delay, I had a party going here, so no time for anything...
