Whats the point of having them be separate? When mixing its helpful to refer to the level meter while making adjustments. I know you can look at the levels in the rack, but its a lot easier to see the bigger horizontal meter across the bottom. A combined volume/pan/level fiter would save space in the rack as well.

some of us here don't use the meters at all!
we just get rid of them.
i, for one, would be annoyed with the presence of a meter on the vol/pan filter, as it's a distraction and not necessary. however, i can see why someone may feel they need it present.
for now, if you want to see a big ol' meter, select the meter filter first and 'lock it' to view with the padlock on the properties panel. when you select the vol/pan filter it will stay there

Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

I dont think it would hurt to have another Tracktion filter that combined volume and meter. It would probably be easy to code. Oh yeah somebody coded something like that in Synthedit the other day (cant remember the link right now). If you replace all the vol/pan filters with that one, you would be set.
