I really, really like Tracktion but this is sooo frustrating. Why can't it be easy and intuitive to export the midi from GA?

Yes I have done it - I posted about the problem about six months ago - and got it to work! I thougt that I had it sorted out.

But now it won't work again! :o I am going nuts over this. I have read the old threads, read Pädys German instructions, tried just about everything, enabled midi out from GA, no other VST on the track. Track to default midi out, select clip and export to midi... but no midi file.

Have anyone done this in the latest version?
 :help: (sorry 'bout the whining)

Hey O-Jay,

You need to check the 'pass midi data through filters in the edit' option in the midi-export dialogue. For some strange reason it does exactly the opposite as it says it would.

Thanks Pädy, but I have that one checked too.

But I have after several tests (I have no hair left to pull) come to the conclusion that on some of my projects this doesn't work at all.

I tried to copy the midi to a new project and everything works just fine :o
Same settings, so it must be some project orientated bug. Well now I have copied and pasted midi to a new project, exported as midi notes and then imported it in the "faulty" project. Duh...

I guess that's what you get from fiddeling around with old songs :?

hi all
I am a newbie and with a question which might seem very elementary to the experts here.
I am trying to route my outputs from Layla 24/96 thro' carbus (outputs 1-2) as a stereo into a track to record the in-built sequences in Groove agent as an audio or MIDI data onto a new track in tracktion. Can this be achieved without rewiring the outs to the ins?
My setup:
G4 1.5Ghz 512MB powerbook, layla 24/96 laptop steinberg groove agent with tracktion Mac OS X 10.3.x
Thanks in advance

You don't have to rewire outs and ins and rerecord it. Just render/export the track - either as a midi or audio file.
I have posted a procedure for doing midi rendering with Groove Agent numerous times - just do a search.

this is the only thread that gets returned in a search for "Groove Agent" and your name.
