A bunch of T on Ebay

In my not so humble opinion:
Paying what we paid for these licenses of T was worth it, if only because Final Mix came with it.
I have been very impressed with the capabilities of Final Mix as a parametric EQ, peak limiter and multi-band compressor.
It's worth every penny of what Tracktion costs, compared to what it would cost for these three signal processors by themselves.
I haven't had any trouble with the presets. I find many of them very usable, and save hours of time fiddling with EQ and compression/peak limit settings.
I use it on individual tracks as well, simply because it's so easy to use - you can shut off the parts you aren't using if you like quite easily.

you also get a good discount on T2, 'cos you have a full boxed version.
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

MY T FINALLY SHIPPED!!!
I am excited in a way, but I wonder why I payed 8 dollars shipping when the ENVELOPE Tracktion came in was stamped $0.60 on the top.
I thought it would at least be in a box or something...

Mine arrived today - and yeah, the postage on it was $0.60 - in a cardboard CD mailer.
Oh well, still a steal for a great application, and hopefully money to a good cause - remember, the auction was for a legit charity.

I bought one from the HEAR charity as well that hasn't arrived yet. But I've been trying to install the free version in the meantime and the unlock button isn't working... (I get the busy icon and then nothing) Does anybody else have that problem?

Yeah,
Mackie has been giving away T1 for free - I have one been using one of those Not For Resale versions for the past 4 months; but no upgrade path is available to T2.
With your low-cost purchase, you just bought a cheaper upgrade path than everyone who bought the software for $80.
I doubt they will be giving away T2.
It doesn't bother me one bit what Mackie are doing. Seems like pretty smart marketing to me. Let everyone taste the easy to use interface to hook them, then intro T2.

Yeah, i tried very hard to be pissed about Mackie giving away the NFR version after i waited 3 weeks, spent $40, and received mine just the day before. But, then i thought how arrogant. What about all those who paid $80 looking at me! The upgrade path possibly is worth it, but i never base my purchases on upgrades. What is great, i have tried to get everyone i know to d'load the free version, so we can all communicate.

The E-Bay thing is legit. We donated a bunch of Tracktion licenses for an online auction to benefit HEAR - "sponsored" by Mix TEC Awards.
The shipping charge is relevant because HEAR will be shipping cd's w/ codes affixed whereby the purchaser can visit mackie.com to setup an account & get a traction license. It's a full fledged license - just like if they bought it online at mackie.com.
I hope this helps.

A friend deals directly with a Mackie sales rep and my friend asked about T2 and upgrading from T1.
The rep said that there was going to be a REBATE to T1 purchasees (is that the right word?) for those buying T2, that would be dependent upon the amount paid for T1 on an individual basis.
Well, I picked up one of these e-Bay licenses that Mackie donated to HEAR. I'm not even sure that I have a receipt for it. But I registered it and all.
So, what is the official word for upgrading and how much it's going to cost? I know we've asked the question a million times. I'm thinking of getting Spike; will my purchase of T1 be worth anything if I do that?
What would be the harm of publishing your plan - certainly you can't still be deciding a pricing strategy this late in the game.
