T2 International Pricing?

I had a good play with T2, and I'm stoked! :D

Now I'm ready to buy...

Contacted a local (Australia) distributor and was told that T2 would be shipping some time after the US release. They were unclear on the pricing, but gave me a figure that is equivalent to almost $US400. That's a bit steep, given that many on-line retailers are offering T2 for $US149.

But I'm beginning to see a pattern here: take the US RRP and double it! I recently bought a USB audio interface from the US. Even allowing for shipping costs, it was less than half the price of the same item through local retailers. Looks like there is a hefty markup on anything audio-related.

Anyone else had this experience? Know a good on-line retailer who will ship T2 internationally? Did a quick search and came up with DJMart (http://www.djmart.com), so failing a better suggestion I'll probably go with them.

What I'd really like is to be able to buy a license on-line like for T1. Think of how much energy and materials it costs to send a piece of plastic half way around the world. Not very eco-friendly...

I bought T1 over the net as I do with most software. I intend to do the same for T2. I have no plans for a boxed T2 from a shop.

I'd appreciate hearing what the Recommended Retail price is likely to be in Euros or GB Pounds Sterling too.

Thanks,

I was wondering if the online option will be available for T2 :?:
Actually I don`t even want the bundled VSTis. I only need the sequencer as I just re-discovered Tracktion. I had downloaded the demo back in 2003 and somehow I forgot about it in favor of the now deceased Muzys :x
What a freaking fool I was!!!!!!
I bought FL and I really love it, but I have just started to use Tracktion for my audio recordings and I have fallen in love with it. Thankfully enough I registered T1 last December but I want T2.
Anybody know about this online registering thing?

World's most isolated capital city...

You guessed it! Perth.

Top little (big) spot, had to go to Perth for a work course few years back, and had an excellent couple of redbacks down freo way. Lovely ladies too. All up a top little junket.

Back to business - so I suppose Australian Audio Supplies will be the distributor in oz for T2, I think they handle all the Mackie hardware. Nothing on their webpage though, you'd think they would at least be announcing it eh. That's if it will be available boxed in oz.

I'm upgrading anyway, box or not.

Greetings, fellow Aussies. At least you guys can nip down the road to a music shop. I'm on Kangaroo Island.
Check out the web site for Allan's Music (might be Allen's, not sure of spelling). From memory there's a link to some kind of music warehouse in Sydney that has really good prices.Must check it myself, come to mention it.
You'd think, after all Johhny's done for George W. and America in general, that they'd give us a discount on Tracktion.

My experience has usually been the same. Double the US price. I buy online when I can because of that. never used an online store though. I have only bought direct through the developer. The best experience I've had buying in Brisbane was with Musiclab. I told them what I could get a Tascam US-122 at an online store for, including postage and they matched it.

Yeah, musiclab are pretty sharp. Got a pair of Sennheiser HD25 headphones for an excellent price. For Australia that is. Unfortunately, it's just economies of scale, there's no way any aussie music shop/distributor can compete with the volumes a US/Europe dealer has. So long as it's not too steep, I would prefer to support the local guys. It's hard sometimes though.

Ellaways in Brissy are pretty good too, always get a good price. Recently bought a Novation X Station (which is the ducks nuts, I love it), picked it up for just over a $1000 AUD. It was listed at the time around $1500 on some other oz music shop sites. Throughly recommend it too.

Sometimes it is close and I wish I could support the local guys. I think I saved about 100.00 on BFD buying from fxpansion. That's worthwhile to me.

I know how you feel morey, it's tough when you find out the price our coalition-of-the-willing mates can get their gear for. I would think it's even worse in other parts of the world -- like Kangaroo Island, eh Toad?

G'Day fellow aussies.

I'm hoping for a downloadable version (BitTorrent preferably!), but I've ordered stuff from these guys... http://www.musicianswarehouse.com.au. Prices seem OK.

Another fellow Aussie here, this time from Adelaide. Hey there Toad, how's life on KI?
Anyway, yes, prices here are ridiculous in general. I try to buy online as much as possible. I am hoping that T2 will have a lite download and purchase option. It makes a lot of sense for international customers like us.
