Hm, OK. Come to think of it, I've been listening through different speakers, IIRC. But I'm not sure... maybe some sorta placebo effect too.

Well you surely have some kind of soft or hard clipper somewhere in the signal chain, and clipping generates frequencies beyond nyquist which results in aliasing. A quote from a paper from the simulanalog-site: In the case of heavy distortions, like in a guitar preamp simulation, at least a x 8 factor is needed.fxe wrote:100% wrongMidiworks wrote: Oversampling?
This is a amp sim, not a synth.
The signal is going through stages of boosters and EQs.
Alaising does not happend here, like with osc's for exemple.
I dont think it will make any difference here if an
EQ/Filter is oversampled or not,
but I will give it a try anyway.
OTOH, I suspect that the oversampling may already be integrated in a se component and you are just not aware of it, 'cause otherwise your amp would alias like shit and it doesn't sound as if it does

The high frequency 'sheen' in Amplitube, is that because of aliasing? I don't know anything about programming, but I know what sounds good - Amplitube sounds BAD.

Alot of it sounds like a cheap guitar with crap pick-ups playing through an old Peavy Classic imo...

the ONLY way to know how this plug is going to be, is to demo the thing. soundclips don't do any justice to any guitar effect. too many factors - guitar itself, guitar player, recording, soundclip itself, etc. etc.
in other words, WHERE'S THE DEMO!?!?!?!

Hey Midiworks,
do yourself a favour and do only let people play guitar for your demoes who have a good tone. Especially with heavy sounds that's vital. Your eat it demo is not really cool, basically it only sounds like an average distortion pedal. The best things I heard in this context are the tracks played by Dimitri. I hope you understand that I mean this as constructive critizism.
All the best, FRitz
P.S. Besides of the above meantioned I think you would do yourself a great favour to get some good beta testers. The kind of tweaking you are doing right now can last too long if done alone. And no, I'm not available for that, I don't have time for doing this.

dimitar, it looks like your example is normalized.
