Hey audie, nice page. Downloading some stuff now, will check it out later.
I read recently, I can't recall where, some major oz distributor saying that their software products pricing policy had been reviewed, and you wouldn't have to pay such big biccies to buy their products here in oz from the retailers (as opposed to internet/mail order etc). So basically they've decided to pull their heads in. Good to see, the cost of some software products here compared to US/Europe is a bit, no pun intended, rich. So maybe oz has become a big enough market to matter, in some areas anyway.

Hey, Steve. I think I was going to send you a CD, wasn't I? Remind me...
Yes,Red5, Musicians Warehouse was the one I was thinking of. Best prices I've seen in Oz.
Wasn't the Free Trade Agreement meant to do something about bringing prices down? Or does it just mean Uncle Sam is free to trade the pants off us? (No offence, American fellow-Tracktioneers).
So, guys, how about we let each other know on this forum what prices we can find for T2 in Oz when it comes out, so we can all get the best deal?
Cheers.

Hey toad, what's this darwin shit in your signature? Kangaroo Island? That's as far, isolated, cold-motherless south as you can get. Ahh, I'm so slooooooow, sorry digger, you're a long way from Darwin. Must admit, thought you were a NT special. You know, men are men, women are women(usually south) and sheep are...
Anyways, no worries toad, will let you know what I can discover here in Brisvegas

Greetings Yurty, Toad, Steve, morelia, and red5!
Thanks for the tip re: Musicians Warehouse. That's a new one on me, and seems to have good prices on quite a few items of interest to me. Free shipping too...

I'm just 5 minutes from Fremantle. Great place to while away a Sunday afternoon... Lots of diverse culture and music.had an excellent couple of redbacks down freo way.
Yep. I contacted them, but they were farily non-commital. If I get any further information I'll keep you posted. Likewise, if anyone else gets a lead on this, please share.suppose Australian Audio Supplies will be the distributor in oz for T2, I think they handle all the Mackie hardware.
Wow. Sounds like a very special place to be. Must be inspiring, despite some of the drawbacks...At least you guys can nip down the road to a music shop. I'm on Kangaroo Island.

Sounds like an all-Aussie forum in here
Brisbane here.
Been a T1 user since it came out, and I'm just wondering whether the upgrade will actually be worth the money. T1 does all I've asked so far, and I know my way around it pretty well. It was great when Jules supported it personally in these forums, but since Mackie took it on, it's really become "corporatized" if you know what I mean. Now, we see v2 coming, and I'm sure it'll have a glitzy box, some snazzy changes to the user interface, and a few new toys, but what is there in it that makes it a "must-have" upgrade? Any takers?
Bottom line - will it make it easier or better to make music - that's what it's all about, Alfie...

I am not an expert user, but I really like the loop recording and that alone is well worth it at least for me.
As for the corporization of T. Well I guess it makes thing a bit easier for Jules. Now he only has to take care of coding and stuff like that. I did get a copy of T early on its life thanks to Computer Music magazine. If I knew then what I do now. I would not have searched for different apps like I did. I still love FL to death, but having a different app with a different approach teaches you a lot.

OK - loop recording is one. Any other reasons to upgrade at a price?

Interesting, Nightstalker - I've been asking myself the very same question. I've been on that upgrade merry-go-round for so many years and while some were really worth the spondooleks others were a dead waste. I'm still playing with T2 demo and haven't made up my mind, but there's a lot of other things I could do with $400 right now. Of course, we're also expecting that T1 users will get some kind of discount, which may swing it for me. As you say, it's all about making music easier to make in the end.
How are the cane toads up your way? I'll have to change my signature now I've been sprung.

What are you talking about? that is the price of spike!!!
I would guess T2 would be available as a download and at an alternative to bundle purchase (with some other hardware/software package)

Toad. I thought you said you were on Kangaroo Island. Are you saying there are cane toads there?
I don't know what the upgrade price will be, but if I do upgrade, the reason will mostly be because the midi editing is a bit better and because of the the loop recording.

We're talking Aussie dollars, amigo. Don't know how that compares to pesos, but here it's more than some families' budget for a week.
