Tracktion Software

I'm trying to use Altiverb 5 as a VST in Tracktion2 and it makes horrible distorted noises. Something is very wrong. Altiverb 5 works fine as a VST plug-in in LIVE 3.0. Does Tracktion 1 have a problem with Altiverb 5? I guess I'll try Altiverb 4 (which doesn't sound nearly as good). does anyone have any ideas? I'm running a Mac dual 1.8 with OS 10.3.7. I'm mixing a 24/96 session. All the other plug-ins I'm using seem fine.
