I'm sure I won't get answer to this, corporate info confidentiality and all, but I'm wondering how many Tracktion license were sold for the Mac platform versus x86 and, from a business standpoint, if it's worth the developement time at all.
I' would guess it's not, and the fact it was ported to the Mac is just on account of the developer who personnaly like to use it on one.

Since the license is for either/both, I don't think metrics exist to tell  But I for one bought it for Mac originally, and there was a very long Tracktion thread at OSXAudio that went on for months. I personally won't buy a sequencer that isn't cross platform, and I think it is a good investment for Jules to support both. It definitely allows T to have as wide a userbase as possible.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

AU's are not "cross platform".

I don't care about AU. VSTs are fine.

Exactly. Wouldnt you rather have features that benefit everybody, like ghots clips, foldertracks, snapshots, etc. Makes sense to me.

I, for one, hope they keep developing for Mac.

I agree. I also will not purchase plugins that are not cross platform. This becomes an important issue when frequently transferring projects.

a thought - AUs may permit 64 bit signals soon (on account of Tiger's new native 64-bit audio file format). So those of us on macs may have a reason to use AU versions of plugs that are available as VSTs as well.

Yep.

Indeed. Of course, GarageBand enjoys file compatibility with Logic Express, I think that you make a very good point. I'd love to see Apple Loop support in a non-Apple product. Has anyone else done this yet?

:-o That leaves out way too many good plugs. I rather just render the result to .wav so I can open it wherever.

Yeah, cross platform compatibility is a bit of a sham. You have to work within some serious constraints to achieve reliable results. Some apps make this easy by auto-rendering stems from multi-track projects.

Its now ""Soundtrack Pro" and is aimed squarely at audio post production. Turns out to be a very good sound design tool as well. The action layers feature is really sick. Have you guys seen this?
