I know this is lazy of me but anyone having Samp with AM Suite can tell me whether there is something in the free plugs missing in AM (features or sound differences). Busy as hell to download and start A/Bing.

AM suite sounds the shite btw. Sascha keep up the excellent work.

Have had many clients specifically ask me to switch from the UAD 1176LN to Blockfish after I "upgraded" the signal path. :)

Love my UAD, but there are free plugs that compete (depending on the source, of course).

I'd be very interested to know how many people here use/own some of the more acclaimed commercial native compressors (e.g. sonalksis, GCO, crunchessor) & whether/how often they still use blockfish/endorphin & also how they rate would rate them in a comparison.
Blockfish is the compressor that come closest to my
UAD compressors.

I allways use it as the last chain in my mastering...because it's a very good limiter allso.

It's one of the greatest software compressors around me think :-)

Blockfish is one of my most used plugins.

Its the only compressor I've found that gives that nice 'crack' on the attack of drums.

I don't see a problem with using it as a master limiter either, if the distortion is a problem (I've not found it so if the knob's right down) you can always use the back panel to tune it out of the way.

I can't help wishing the Dev would update them though, fisphones are getting shakey in some hosts as time marches onward.

Classics indeed. 8)

I use Blockfish on almost every channel. It's awesome!

Like the LA2A ?

it is a great compressor - especially for a freebie.

Just remember to press the *stereo* button when using it on a stereo track heh.
