ok..don't worry..what i said actually nonsense because I forgot to mention I installed T1 on a totally different computer!

Post

hey, is it different with MIDI? I got the sidechain plug going in T1, and I still don't see the key input wen i put an instance of the rack in my kick channel. Am I missing something?

Post

To add an extra input to the rack itself you nead to open up the rack and highlight it (not the plugin inside) and then click on the new input channel button in the properties panel, you can then name this channel whatever you like. :)

Post

ok..did it, now I'm guessing that unconnected black stems in your picture are the "key inputs"?

Post

No, they're MIDI connections.. not relevant here. The key input is the third audio input.

Post

In PLatinumears picture, not mine  No they're not, they are midi inputs which don't need to be used in this case, which is why they are unconnected. The three connected inputs from top to bottom are: Left Stereo In; Right Stereo in; and Key input. If you hover your mouse over the stems then tracktion will tell you what they are called.

Post

ok i got it..i always forget to wrap it as a rack, and i just throw it i there..now i got it going..EQd a little boost for the kick at 60 and the bass at 80. any settings you guys really like for this setup?

Post

very fast attack, tailor the release to the material: if you get it right the ducking will 'dissapear', as your brain will interpret it as the natural after-effects of a big bass-drum hit, but the parts should seem to have more room to breathe..

if you have a very boomy kick drum it might be worth high-pass filtering just the key signal so the ducking is only triggered by the snappy mid-range region.
