hmmm, it does say on the site that you can only upgrade the T1 license once. but i guess if you've bought T2 in the shop then register it you're not technically upgrading it.. hmm i wonder...
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

Very glad to hear that non-US customers may yet get a fair deal  although it does mean the post I was writing during the couple of minutes the forum was down just now (which went like this : :tantrum: ) was wasted :)

Although - and I just want to be clear so please don't burn me - all the original patter was that there would be an upgrade price that *at least* recouped the T1 outlay ($80) - yet there is just a $60 rebate. When that was announced it was at the same time as all the juicy plugins were being mentioned (although subject to change) so surely any reasonable person would take this to mean that there would be at least $80 incentive to upgrade. After all, the no-plugs version was only confirmed as even existing in the last couple of weeks. Not trying to start an argument, just thinking aloud . . .

1) The $20 T2 online upgrade (vanilla version) seems fair & equitable.
2) existing (U.S. only so far) T1 to T2 boxed version $60 rebate seems a little strange (existing T1 users pay $20 more, based on the original purchasing price of $80, than brand new customers). I suppose it could be argued that they still have & can use T1 also, although (imo) that is a fairly poor argument.
3)I think mackie should hurriedly sort out the situation regarding international upgraders, I can understand people being upset about the fact that international users moving from T1 to the boxed version have no real 'upgrade' incentive, unlike those 'priveleged' enough to live in the U.S. Couple this with the fact that it has felt like quite a long wait & their feelings of being let down are understandable.
4) I feel fairly neutral here, as i was lucky enough to get an NFR copy of T1, & if i had purchased T1 (which I would likely have done last week if not for the fact that I had spent all my spare cash on some other software) I would more than likely have taken advantage of the (more than fair) online upgrade & would have been happy with that personally.

To sum up - this all seems like a bit of a mixed bag & could have been handled a little better (only my opinion).
