Worked fine here.
Anyway, you can backup yor user settings just in case. What else can happen?
(unless you have some plugins inside the Tracktion folder)

How can you resist? It's only 20 dollars! What an amazingly nice thing to do for the faithful!

Maybe he's into the vintage computing experience and the upgrade from 98SE to XP is way more than 20 bucks.gizmo wrote:How can you resist? It's only 20 dollars! What an amazingly nice thing to do for the faithful!
As much as we're grateful to Mackie, Microsoft is more so. All us 'late-adopters' now have a terrible imperative to upgrade to XP. Frikkin' Unicode. It's like the Chinese have a different character for every letter! Who said music is a universal language?
I'm still gonna upgrade right away, even tho I can only look longingly at the keycode file sitting on my 98 desktop.

Also, did you miss the post where Jules said he's writing some code so T2 WILL work on 9x machines?

Yet another reason why you owe him a beer ... even microsoft want to drop support for win98

Was trying to be humorous in these stressful times...*sigh* (98SE Chinese is actually a different OS in many ways because of the lack of Unicode support. I deeply regret the obscure reference and any agitation it may have inadvertently caused you, your family, your fellow co-KVRians and other inhabitants of this part of the galaxy.)chico.co.uk wrote:Uh ... so does English?mandolarian wrote:Frikkin' Unicode. You bet I read it. That's where the Unicode joke came from, which failed utterly in its purpose, intent and comedic references. For that I am terribly sorry. Also, did you miss the post where Jules said he's writing some code so T2 WILL work on 9x machines?

But, I have this little shrine on my computer called Tracktion, where I thank Jules daily. But I also have to obey the signs we have at work which read: " Do not feed the programmers. Under no circumstances give them beer."

Yup, i totally missed the joke. Still missing it, in fact ... sorry, was only trying to help, 'cos it sounded like you were bemoaning the fact that you'd now have to pay for an xp upgrade licence, was trying to give you a glimmer of hope ...
Think we're posting along parallel lines, both with the best of intentions, but simply not intersecting
i like beer. beer is my friend.

I was trying to make an obscure, sort of 'Lost In Translation' reference to 98SE and Unicode. But I'm way too inside as I've had too many years of 'internationalizing' 98 applications. Sorry.
Yes, we are posting in parallel lines, I had a near-beer experience just last week....
