$20 and unlock. Fine, but...

1) seems that we had the final version since late march... why wait?

2) I don't see any of the new plugins (didn't see them in the demo either) The plugs in T2 are the plugs from T1 minus Final mix:
Image

/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/ is empty
~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/ only inspector unrelated to T

No Final Mix
No new kinds of compressors

If I look inside the package. These are mentioned so I suppose they should be there. Ho do I get access to them?

Have to buy the boxed version for that... Apparently?

So we had Final mix with the paid for T1 and then they took it away when we also paid for T2? Why? You must be guessing! Please site your sources. I have also seen these new compressors mentioned. Others have them. The boxed version isn't out yet.

...They have it at AudioMidi.com and Guitar Center... I thought only the boxed version contains all the Mackie and free plugs, not the "upgrade" download version... Maybe I'm wrong on that? The demo has the Mackie plugs, but not the freebies... All they offered me was a $30. rebate, on the boxed version... Unfortunately, I have all the free stuff... That would not be cool, if they took out the Mackie plugs for Mac upgraders... They're pretty nice!

the mackie plugs ARE still in the T2 demo version. perhaps you've got your plugin folders set wrong? they are in the package
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

Final mix and the mackie compressors should be there, Mac or PC.

It is unlikely that they "took out" anything from the demo (the demo had these) as you can just authorize the demo and use it as a full version.

I say download again, and re-check the folders.

Which folders? Install is just to drag the application "Tracktion" out of the mounted disc image. There is no install app to run. There is no instlall procedure. Nothing. So, what can go wrong? Has any Mac user access to the Mackie plugins new to T2? If so, please report here.

Sorry I can't help any further - I'm on PC.

The folders I have (inside the Tracktion folder) are called Mackie Plug-ins and MDA Plug-Ins, just like in your screenshot. The Mackie Plug-Ins folder contains Final Mix and the comps.

After Tracktion scans these folders, the plugins should appear in the filter list.

I opened the application bundle and added the internal app path to the list of plugs. Lo and behold a whole bunch of new plugins. That procedure is definitly wrong!

I suppose this is a permissions error in Tracktion Mac. Many users run as admin. I don't. My ordinary account is an ordinary user...

How about it Mac beta testers. Do you run as admins or users...?

Is it your Mac? Are you the only user? Then you should be the Administrator... Right?

All Mackie Plugs have been in my vst folder,
library/audio/plugins/vst since i installed the demo a couple of months back.
Try downloading the full install file again and replace the older T2.
You definately should have the mackie compressors and de-esser in you vst folder.
I'm on OS10.3.9 by the way.

Let's start simple. Rescan your plug-ins and make sure the correct folder is listed in the plug-in search path. The mackie plug-ins are included in the 20 dollar version so don't fret.

Looking at your screen shots again the MDA plugs don't show up either so you need to be sure the paths are correct for your plugin searching.

Yes. Yes. No!

Well, I am the admin. For those chores I use a separate admin account (that only I have access to...).

Being admin most days is a security risk in many ways. First and foremost restricted rights saves my computer from me...;-) This way I am also alerted when software authors take liberties with my computer. As an ordinary user a dialog pops up and asks permission to install this or that in various places they have NO business at all. I have written Mac software since 1984 so I know there are more often than not better ways... If some software missbehaves in this regard it goes OUT (and will not collect my money). Anyway this is NOT a Mac or Unix thing. Every bit as vaild in the Windows world.

This is near the actual problem.

When I open the app bundle (not something most users do) and set the search path into the application. Then Tracktion recognises all the plugs.

Adding the Trackion application folder (the folder that contains Tracktion) has no effect.

This could be a persmissions problem or perhaps that I keep two application folders. One for (more or less) the Apple default apps on an OSX partition and one bigger for most apps that are mine on a partition that will survive a complete reinstall of the OS... On this partition are most of my apps and all my user accounts.
