T2 isn't supported on 98se. I haven't heard any fortuitous success stories. Sorry!

Mackie - PUT A BLOODY GREAT WARNING ON THE TRACKTION FRONT PAGE THAT IT IS XP ONLY!!!!!
Grumble, Grumble, Mutter Mutter.....

For the record, folks, I'm actually working on some code at the moment that should sort this out. We had to base it all on unicode under 2000/XP to get it to install properly on foreign language systems, and win98 can't deal with that, so I'm figuring out a way to add some extra backwards-compatibility right now.

Ya know, there's a reason why there's a demo...NightStalker wrote:So - I just paid my $20, downloaded the upgrade, and now I find out that it won't work with 98SE? What a crock of ****!!

Nightstalker,
You should email mackie support, calmly explain your situation, and ask for a refund. Might get results sooner than bitching in a public user forum.
And another thing....jeez, $20 US is almost nothing these days. I take my gf out to breakfast and it's at least 15. Two drinks each for you and your date. A half day's work at minimum wage. See? Have some perspective!
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Hey Jules, if you are able to get that "backwards-compatibility" worked out can you post it in a sticky? I'm waiting on the boxed version cause I want the plugs but I have to upgrade my machine before I can go XP. If I don't have to use XP I can start using T2 alot sooner.
Thanks for the extra effort to try and get it to work. I'm sure there are others like myself who really appreciate your dedication and loyalty to your userbase.

OK - thanks folks... I've taken a few deep breaths and calmed down now! My main beef is not the $20, but the fact that NOWHERE on the Mackie site is there a warning that T2 is XP only, and downloading 14 Mb via 28.8 dialup (it's where I live that's the problem) only to find it doesn't work is a pain. There should be a box on the T2 page listing system requirements, as there is in most software websites or on the side of most software boxes. That's all - the lack of warning.
BUT - I'm delighted to see that Jules is already onto this
That's what made version 1 so great - the fantastic support from Jules and the rapid introduction of new ideas suggested by others. Great work Jules - I hope you'll get Mackie to put the warning on the website, and also to put up the announcement when any upgrade is available that will work with 98SE. Thanks Jules
