Ben described it as a priority - I expect we will see a point update soon.

FWIW, I noticed this long ago, but thought it was likely my fault in the way I had the settings configured. Good to know it wasn't just my ears playing tricks

After tests I made earlier, I came to conclusion to NEVER USE rendering function. First of all there are some functional problems when rendering songs with usage particular VSTis (Arthuria, Novation etc.)
Second, something is definitely wrong with sound. I did not spend time to find out, but it is clearly worse than when I output 2 mixed tracks to other environment.
Bit conversion, dithering and sample rate conversion is definitely better done in Sound Forge, but even simple rendering is doing something wrong (especially in complex mixes).

Don't forget that your music might eventually outlive you.

One work-around I found was to use my soundcard's internal mixer (I know that's not a feature of all soundcards) for rerouting Tracktion's outputs back to a Tracktion input. I could then rerecord with all the effects processesed. Latency/sync was an issue, although obviously not when dealing with the ouputs of the master.
Perhaps one could use a software solution. If memory serves I think there is an audio equivelant to the Maple and Sonic Foundry MIDI routers. Anyone remember something like this?

rest assured that AFAIK this IS being worked on as a priority ...
... in the meantime a realtime recording plugin like tobybears channelgrabber or silverspikes tapeit / tapeit2 are your best bet if your soundcard cant re-route outputs to inputs ...
(personally id still like to see a native tracktion filter that does this)

it would take more than a filter because you would have to have a new input on the left panel which would have to be configured in the setup section.

what im thinking off is something that looks like a more focussed rack filter ...Rock wrote:it would take more than a filter because you would have to have a new input on the left panel which would have to be configured in the setup section.
... drag one onto the track you want to record from and when you enable it a new input arrow / option appears in the input area ... all your config for this could be done in the properties panel so you wouldnt need to switch to the settings page at all ...

I'm already used to re-routing my soundcards mix back into a tracktion track rather than rendering to get round the other rendering bug (the one where sped up audio clips dont render correctly).. I hope (obviously) that all these rendering bugs get fixed in one go..

I doubt it. General feeling seems to be that T2 is your upgrade option and you'll have to wait for a T2 bugfix.

can't imagine any T1 point updates when T2 is $20....
