Slow meters

I loaded the t2 demos now that I have bought it and the meters are really choppy and so is the time.
Is this typical? I can easily run projects of same size with higher cpu load in another host with perfect metering and screen updates.
Is there something I can do or am I doomed to small projects if I want this program to work smoothly?

I would like to be able to view metering though. I guess with the shit resolution of tracktions meters they're useless anyways. Meh.
What a joke, this has been the worst 20$ I have spent in a long time.

the software has been very slow for me in nearly everyway, metering, cursor movement, cpu meter, even some VST UI's are lagging. PLayback just seems to mean, "I play sound and forget about what's on the screen" to it? haha
Am I missing something important here? This is impossible to do any mixing with, it's a joy to track with though.

I will mention that T1 is working fine, redraws are reasonable and meters move much faster. I would like to use some of the new features in T2, but there seems to be some issues.

Give us a few clues then.. whats your OS? System spec?
Have you checked you have the correct drivers selected in T2? Sample-rate & buffersize? etc etc..

msi 925x neo platinum,3.8 p4 (oc'd to 4.2), 2gb ddr2 ram, windows XP pro, 1 40gb system, 2 WD 74gb raptor's, 3 head parhelia video. and I am using 3 monitors, T2 on 1 screen.
Using rme fireface 800 with correct drivers selected, ive tried with high and low buffers.
T1 works just fine. Ive checked sample rates to make sure they match properly as well. There is no reason this thing shouldnt totally fly. Even if I load up kristal to the hilt it responds perfectly fine.

I must say i'm experiencing the same thing (slow metering and the cursor moving step by step instead of fluently).
It doesn't bother me that much, though it surely is different from T1.

It might be worth investigating pci buss latency.. I can't help much there however, I've been putting off finding out about that stuff..

Wouldn't that affect other hosts as well if it was the problem?

FWIW, I routinely delete Tracktion's level meters anyway.. not because they're 'shit', but because the information is redundant in a 32/64-bit mixing engine and it leaves more room for useful stuff, while also (probably) reducing the graphics overheads..

For me I dont think metering is redundant, I need to know a good starting point in range for the centerpeice of the mix to hover at. I cant mix into a limiter or compressor on the master because I send out to a mastering house.
It's not just the metering though, the timer, the cursor, some vst/i UI's, menu's.. and the popups take ages to show up.
I need to calm down, but i am very upset. I am more than willing to find a way to make this work.

Well did you check the meter speed settings in the T2 settings.
