i think most people here will agree that I am usually a helpful and friendly poster, so i don't mind making this one exception:

This thread is a prime example of all that is ugly in humanity: give someone something for free, and they just expect to carry on getting stuff for free.

Selfish wankers, the lot of you.

Post

In my first post on this forum you immediately called me a bastard because I was having trouble with this software.

Not very friendly or helpful.

From looking at previous posts now, you seem to be a major ass quite a lot of the time. All the help in the world doesnt make up for that

nothing ...

... i THINK whats ired platinumears is that his interpretation (correct or otherwise) is that SOME NFR users SEEM to be EXPECTING a deal on T2 from mackie and AFAIR this was NEVER stated to be the case ...

... (again AFAIK) the NFR deal was offered precisely to entice users into grabbing a T1 licence at $80 in the knowledge that an upgrade to T2 could then be made (as hae been proved) at a VERY reasonable cost ... it was also obviously intended to squeeze a last few sales out of a 'dead' product ...

... so ...

... nothing wrong with suggesting a deal from mackie for NFR users ... but dont expect it to happen and please dont get arsey if it doesnt (at least not immediately) ...

no, it was because of your whinging insulting tone, ('worst $20 I ever spent') after I made a constructive suggesion.

Anyway, I probably made my point. I will leave you to your pointless* whining..

* because Mackie aren't likely to change their strategy now.

An idiot on Set Theory:

I heard that there will be a T2 NFR soon, since Julian is working on T2.5 already :D

Post

as far as i know no nfr user is asking for a 'deal' in this thread. Just asking to be able to get a d// copy.
Whiterabbyt has a good point about pricing also - in the uk boxed versions have a very good chance of turning out to be around £149-ish, which doesn't equate to $149 does it.
Still we'll see how it turns out, personally i wouldn't spend that on T2 as i've stated - as i use it only minimally, for that money i'd buy ozone & do the master inside live.
hourses 4 courses.
& platinumears - yes i have seen you be very helpful on numerous occasions.

your still being a fuckin arsehole now though - but what can i say we all have them daze.

Post

Damm!
All I want is to be able to BUY a downloadable T2 license without the bundled plugs. The box will most likely cost me twice of what you´d pay in the USA.
Is that so hard to understand???????
We are not asking for the 20$ upgrade.
Now I remember why I stopped hanging around this forum.

true that. posted too quickly because this thread just has me seeing red

nah - 4 the most part this is still a cool place, with some extremely helpful people.
try asking a newbie question on the steinberg forums - they get eaten alive, especially if english is their 2nd language.
Reckon a lot of them guys are very sexually frustrated - always posting about cracks - y'know what i'm saying?

There is nothing wrong with proposing a deal. Ultimately it's up to Mackie to decide whether to honor the idea or not. However, no matter how you look at it.. justify it.. or whatever.. asking to pay the original T1 price + ugrade price is just that... you are asking for the same deal. It's simple mathematics. 80+20 = T1 purchaser price + registered T1 upgrade price. It was made clear that purchasing T1 would insure you the upgrade path. If you didn't snap up a copy, then you missed the boat... but you have to admit, the NFR version has been out over 6 months. There was more than adequete time to purchase a T1 license and thus be included in the deal. Opportunity tends to present itself to the risk taker. Whatever the end result, so be it as it doesn't really effect me... but just stuff to think about.

Can we kill all the name calling.. cos I don't really want to lock the thread.
