careful, pepe.... you are asking too many questions!

http://audio.clockbeat.com/sfZed.html is that <---- what you're looking for?
just found it myself; hadn't heard about it before today - looks like a cool thing. I haven't really used sfz, because i love samplerchan for SF2 ; just has amazing beautiful sound and such great features, but it is old, unsupported, and buggy, and so i think I will look into this sfz thing.
If you use soundfonts at all, have you tried the Viena editor that is from the Synthfont developer? (not the creative one) it was mentioned earlier in the thread, but I find it to be a really solid and easy to use editor.
:)

Thanks for the link, dood, lol, it's the same link I already had before, but for some embarassing reason I didn't use Firefox browser this time and used IE with "save ass"-procedure... and the link worked

Ciao.
Mmm, Steve's site's linked from my sfz page.

I think viena is the best SoundFont Editor. You should try it first.

does anyone know how i can get alive to actually load and play / audition my soundfonts? i own an SBLive but it always tells me that it "could not audition soundfont and i should check my device settings" ...and stuff... (which i have, of course)
 :?

EDIT: i´m using XP and KX-Drivers

Hi,

I had the kx-drivers installed some year ago, and I think you had to uninstall the SBlive-drivers before, is it? So the old way (which is easy I think, crappy as our soundcards may be) doesn't work. Isn't there somewhere at the kx-drivers a "SF"-button? At the time I was using it it wasn't very far concerning soundfonts.
Here in my Audigy2 loading and listening is super-easy, you simply have to change the memory available for soundfonts if they are more than some MB. But simply loading and listening to the sf2 is much better with the free sfz, do you have it? -->www.rgcaudio.com or look at the rgcaudio-forum here at KVR.
Ehemm, hope this helps. It worked in SBlive, but I think only until I had the kx-drivers installed and with them Asio after all :)

Very LARGE soundfonts and SBlive5.1 -loading were an impossible thing, if I remember right, by the way.

If I should test anything, simply pm me, my girlfriend has the SBlive-card now and I could check that. cheers!

Hmmm... it's on the sfZed page:

Whoops - you know that already. That'll teach me not to notice the second page...

Hi , to me AudioCompositor is the best .
Check for it at : http://audiocompositor.home.att.net (http://audiocompositor.home.att.net)
MacQ wrote:Hi,

Since I don't really like any of the current samplers on the market as they just feel too bloated on features (Halion) or I hate the interface (Kontakt/Kompakt), I've decided that SFZ+ or similar is going to be the sampler for me. Pursuant to that, I've converted some old Akai discs to soundfonts, and they work well so far.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find an editor for soundfonts that will work without a Soundblaster card. Can anyone recommend a way that I might create or edit soundfonts without one? I tried the demo for Awave, but it's pretty limited, and there's no way in hell that I'll pay that price for what little I want to do. All I'm trying to do is load pre-looped samples into a multi-sample formation, and alter global amplifier envelopes. I don't even really need multi-layer velocity switching or anything, since I'm sampling old hardware synths anyway.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

(stu.macQ)
