Does it still allow you to generate a code then log on to get a key from a different computer? My music PC is not connected to the internet (and I intend to keep it that way).

I haven't tried with the key file thing, but it does give you the option of how you want to unlock it. It lets you either do it online right there or use a key file, so yes, you can download the key and do it that way.
With the drawbar organ, I haven't tried it yet, but intend to tonight. I've been busy going through RMIV kits and MIDI's as well as the new awesome sound of the Slayer 2.5, which does sound better than it ever has.
I intend to post a full review of the boxed version tonight so check back and I'll run through the details.

Do the bundled plugins work with other VST hosts or are they all locked like the Mackie ones are?

I believe that part of the license restrictions are that the plugs are Tracktion only. But if you're using T for your music, you probably wouldn't need them to work elsewhere. I assume that's one way that the price was kept low.

I think they are locked, but I suspect some, if not all, of the 3rd party plugin companies will offer upgrade paths to teh full unrestricted versions.

Will the boxed version allow you to register T2 and the bundled plugs on 2 different machines (eg, both your home DAW and portable laptop)? I thought this was extremely generous & practical with the original license.

Brilliant... best value on the market.
I'll be picking mine up at Sam Ash tonight then (and I can confirm that Guitar Center in Manhattan doesn't even have it in their computer.)

I've never liked GC, that's why I didn't even try there. Sam Ash has always been the absolute best place for everything audio for me.
And since I also use Finale, and their upgrades for a while now have offered two licenses, plus cross platform, just like Tracktion, I can do almost everything on one computer that I can the other. Same with my ProTools when I need it. Those are always the best deals for me.

I envy el americanos (first time, so you's better be honoured
) for getting the whole deal.
I bought the online upgrade for 20USD, as getting a rebate in Europe is still a huge questionmark - meaning that now I'm looking into other options for drum sampler

I know what you mean but I don't give a toss about the rebate, I need T2 and RMIV so I paid up today.pakana wrote:I envy el americanos (first time, so you's better be honoured) for getting the whole deal.

I understand your attitude, but as a "loyal user" it's a bit stingy to pay more in total (T1+T2) than someone who jumps on board only now.
