There will not be a full T2 download version from Mackie, and no T2 stripped download version (save the T1 upgrade). T2 is a retail product. Please support your favorite retailer.
Thanks for welcoming us to the 20th century for those that missed it. Obviously you smart Mackie guys know something. This internet thing really is just a fad.

Oh, and just so you know, my 'favourite retailer' has no clue about T2 boxes. And they're less than 70 miles from Woodinville. Albeit in a strange and foreign country.

Hope you can keep Macktion in action long enough to reassess your vintage marketing methods.
That was really uncalled for. FYI, Long and McQuade knows about it. Maybe one salesperson did not, or that particular store is slow to roll it out.

FYI, it was not in the L&M computer system last week. That's what they told me. At my favourite retailer. You created your distribution system, doesn't mean I have to like it.

Marketing learned where?

Does that suit you sir?
or is selling software a bit like making love to a beautiful woman?

I reckon someone over there may have had a few too many maybe?

I think it's funny that you are all still yelling. Mandolarian, I think that smacking sarcastic remarks at mackie is definitely going to make them change their mind. Good Job!
Love You,
timmy :D

Nah, they won't change their minds. They are an omnipotent marketing machine. They don't need no stinkin' internet customers. Doubt they'll listen to anyone that doesn't hold their view of the MI universe. But it is fun to poke a little stick into their marketing windmill. :)

Rob: I know that you're adding another level of profoundness to an already profound statement...

the tiny little coglets of my miniscule brain are working on it... I'll get there soon, no doubt ...

no profundity here ... more an observation of slight irony really ...

Exactly :) Way to move out of the 60s !

Hey, at my favourite retailer they want dollars the size of house deposits for some o' those there keyboards ! I hate to think what they'll charge for a little bitty box. And considering that they heavily stock Steinberg, I doubt they'll be taking a risk anytime soon on the big T.
Hope you can keep Macktion in action long enough to reassess your vintage marketing methods.
But don't you know? Vintage is all the rage nowadays....ooops...that's vintage mastering methods actually...got confused for a moment.

You know. I had a retail business not so long ago. We'd order in new products from time to time and I'd virtually have to beg customers to try them out. They sure did love their tried and true products. People get really entrenched at the retail level a lot of the time. It's pretty common behaviour. Ironically, some of the most flexibly minded and adaptable people are those who use this weird internet thingy and actually understand that software is a dynamic movement of information and not always a cd in a box.
If I'd spent thousands of dollars on sequencers already, I doubt I'd be considering a strange box I'd never heard of before.
But maybe they know something we don't ??

All sarcasm aside for a moment, do you think it's realistic to sell 3GB of data as a download? I know, I know... some of you don't want the plug-ins, so don't even get started with that because it's a different issue.

I'm simply saying that under the assumption that this must be for whatever reason, a unified product 3GB is an unreasonable amount to sell as a download product.

I guess Mackie could set it up as a Bit Torrent so everyone can share the load?

:hihi:

Of course it is. Until we get hi speed distributed networks on multi core CPUs and Millipede polymer drives from IBM ;)
I didn't think that was the point anyay. We all know 3GB is too big a download. That's kinda why a lite version was mentioned.

Dude, I think at this point that bit torrent may be too much out of the square for them! Just a tad too far in front of the digital curve.
