100 USD for strings

I didn't see what sampler you were using, but I think a lot of samplers can play sound fonts. I think the soundFont.com strings look interesting. The program list is extensive, but I can't tell a lot from the demo. I wonder if it's the strings from the old orchestral proteus? Anyway, $40.00 is less than $100.00.

This topic interests me a lot. Does anybody out there use this or the Sonic Implants sound fonts?

I'm very curious about these also. I have the proteus 2 soundfont which is OK but that $40 string set has far more samples and articulations as well as different sized ensembles. The demo tune doesn't show off the set very well.

I'd like to hear from someone who has this sample set.

I dont use a sampler yet.. have another thread going for that. Confused between Vsampler and Kompact mostly.

Vsampler also has a beat slicer and extensive loop features.

Vsamplre supposedly support a lot more library formats than Kompact. And has extensive editing features.
Kompact also seems very versatile, and comes with a comprehensive soundset.

Vsampelr can be purchased over the net. For kompact i cant locate a dealer in india.

Most advansed features i might not use immediately, but i dont want to be in a situation where i feel the lack of the same either.

We also get Halion here... dunno.
