I'm really interested in making some sort of upgrade decision but since there has been a lot of posting since the realease, I find it very time-comsuming and difficult to wade through all those treads trying to figure out what the upgrade options really are, especially for a non-US resident as myself.
It seems that several Mackie officials has made statements here and there in different threads.
I'd appreciate a summary of what the policies are, at least what's decided so far, preferably as a sticky or whatever it's called.
It's still not even clear to me if (all?) the bundled software in the box version really ARE usable only in Tracktion? I can't find any mention of that on the Mackie site.
The Mackie site says "Here's just a partial list of all the goodies that come bundled with T2." Is there a final complete list?
Thanks in advance. I apologize if I have overlooked some obvious place for the information.
Confusion... please make some official statement

if you are an NFR user, your only option is to buy the box (I'm pretty damn sure all the plugs will be locked to Tracktion btw.. wouldn't really make sense any other way.)
If you have a full T1 license you can either log into your Mackie account and pay $20 dollars to unlock the T2 demo, or wait to see what kind of deal Mackie are able to arrange for non US customers: as yet the only official info on this is that Mackie would like to offer the same discount they currently offer US customers, but it may prove impossible..

Thanks platinumears. In the end I had to plow through it all anyway...
Found out that the current T2 release is supposed to be the last version available to purchase online, and that only as an upgrade.
I don't know, but I guess this means that if I want to stay on in the future, I (and everyone else everywhere, I suppose) will have to go over to boxed versions sooner or later.
If anyone is interested, I called the scandinavian representative for Mackie, and according to them they have a shipment of boxed T2 coming in, though he wasn't sure of delivery date. The recommended price would be SEK 1595, which is € 174 or USD 223 at current rate.
They didn't have any information about upgrade rebates so far, but still thought it would be "quite possible".
So for Scandinavia, or at least Sweden, T2 box will be available in retail, and it doesn't seem impossible that there will be an upgrade rebate.
I guess we'll have to settle for that, at the moment.
