What do you think of Project5 version 2?

I've had my copy for a few days now - soooo much better than v 1.5 (and that was great except no audio recording). Dimension, Spectal Transformer and PSYN II are worth the price alone IMO.

Just been playing with Dimension some more and it is still
, there are a lot of things that have been improved within Project 5 that make it a excellent piece of software in itself but when you add Dimension it is absolute bargain. I cannot think of another sequencer/soft studio that comes with such a good synth.

Hi
The upgrade to V2 is IMO absolutely brilliant and well worth the money.
Cakewalk have done it again and deserve our commendation and support.
BTW I think the reason the P5 forum is so quite is that everyone is busy playing with their new toy.

The P5 forum has never been more active, than it has, in the last three weeks, since the P5 2.0 web demo was released. Some 500 new topics and more than 4400 new posts, just in the past 18 days. BTW, I am still waiting for my new toy (P5 2.0 upgrade), to arrive. I wanna play too!Bonkwell wrote:Hi

re: the P5 forum
Rene keeps dropping by with more tips and tricks for using Dimension. imho, it's really out of hand this latest multiple loop points and counts in the sfz format is more than my little brain can absorb. I guess this is taking the sfz format to the next level.
i figure it'll be a month or more before i begin to explore in some depth what's already been presented.
i've always been a big fan of the P5 workflow with its midi pattern and track editing and creation. Now there are many enhancements and alternatives.
It's much easier to play in/record patterns on the track. With track layers it gives you the ability to play the whole project and play along/insert a new track.
I don't do audio, but I'm told by setting loop points in audio new track layers are automatically created for multiple takes -- sort of a simple version of the Sonar 4 multiple take feature.
I've been doing the same thing manually with midi recording to track layers.
Haven't even digested what all can be done by recording from the Groove Matrix.
It seems it's really opened things up as they advertise as a performance soft synth workstation. I don't know about Live and live performance, but it seems P5 really has all sorts of means of performance based composition tools.

Dimension is worth the price alone, and the audio recording and layout are very simple and inspiring to use.

Note - only idiots give their home addresses for delivery when their letterboxes are just about big enough to get a postcard through.
Or, at least, I presume that that was the upgrade that some courier company based about 5 miles away from where I live left a note about last night.

Hmmm, I got a note from a courier last night as well. When I phoned, they said it was about a kilo, so its not the crate of wine. So its either P5 v2, or nanoloop.

It is nineteen instances of Dimension. It won't play without breaking up on my machine unless I up the latency to 90mS.Can anyone confirm (or not) that the demo song 'Taboo style (rgc) takes a heavy toll on the cpu cycles - it maxx's out my 2.26ghz pc!

Yeah, its a beast. Its nothing but a big pile of Dimensions loaded up, I counted 13 of them, so if you're using less than a gig of RAM you'll probably be choking there too.original flipper wrote:HI
