Most GeForce cards post the Geforce3's have dual outputs. However always remember that fan-noise is an issue... look for something that just has a heatsink. Im running a rather nice old fanless Quadro in mine.

Matrox G550. Stable, doesn't seem to have inherent conflicts with anything, drivers have additional options (treat both monitors as if they were one huge one), and are 'classics' for DAWs. Used only, but easy to find for $35 CDN. ;-) Has DVI and VGA connectors, plus an adapter for DVI-to-VGA. At least one of your monitors will have to be plugged in with regular VGA connector if you choose this option. There are other inexpensive options with dual DVI, though. I wouldn't think you'd have to pay any more than $80 for a solution, tops.

Same post than Lunch Money. I use the Matrox 550. No conflicts, it's OK.
In front of me, a screen with Tracktion, on the left, a screen with my vst MIXER (and other plugs)!
resolution on the first screen, 1024 X 768 and at left 1152 x 854.

MIXER, MIXER, MIXER. :hihi:
Nice word, isn't ? :D

You should be able to find a S-Video to VGA converter online somewhere

Subject, I could be wrong but I think the S-video output will be a duplicate of your VGA output. Not true dual monitor functions.
However, if your current video card supports dual monitor (I think it does) then you just need to add another graphics card.
Might be cleaner and less prone to conflicts though to just pop for a new card that has dual VGA outputs.
I got one for my son for @ $100.00 U.S.for gaming that works great. A GForce/NVidia I believe.

I know a couple of people that were able to use their on-board video with a GForce card for dual monitors but I wasn't able to get that way to work on my son's PC. His on-board video didn't support dual monitors. Chekc your MB specs. You could get lucky.

Do a search on eBay for "Matrox" lot's of dual head cards there. I've been using a G450 for years no problems.

S Video is shit for computer display; dont even think about it. Or do you want something thats been converted down to less than 600x400 then blown back up again?

an "under the radar" card to check out - Matrox G4+ - it's an OEM version of the 450 made for Dell. I've picked up two of them off eBay for different workstations, they run about $15-20 each, and have worked flawlessly for all my video and audio work.
