Midi Controller mapping question--Mac OS X

Hi:
I upgraded to T2 and loving it, but for some reason, mapping a controller fader/knob with a Peavey 1600X Midi controller box has become hard to figure out. I can set up random CC's and then press a button and I will see certain things in Tracktion activate, such as 'record enable' when using the per-inputs feature. Does anyone know where I can find a list of the Midi CC #'s for the T2 interface? If I can hit a midi noteon button and something blinks in T2, then obviously something is working, but Mackie is clueless and their tech support tells me there is no such thing as a midi specification. help anyone?
P.S.--I have already set up midi in the devices section, and checked out the controller automation feature.
thx much :)

Tracktion currently only supports the MCU as an external controller. If you want to use other controllers you will need to map their controls to that of the MCU.
There is a sticky at the top of this forum where haydxn explains how it all works.

Alrightee, many thanks for the reply. seeing your post, I remembered why I specified Mac OS X. I had a look at that post and will go over it again, though it is for Win. I take it that you are saying essentially I have to use a third-party solution to figure out what parameters T2 will respond to sort of by trial-and-error?
thx again.
thx again.

Yes, Map your controller manually and be sure to unassign any inputs in the controllers settings page for MCU and C4.

Hi,
I have an edirol pcr30 and I had to use 'free message' (raw) mode for some of the commands. Don't know if your controler has this feature... This is what I have found out so far, rather a poor man's control but better than nothing (using Mackie Control Universal mode in T2, midi input from pcr30):
track vol fader:
track1: E0 MSB LSB
track2: E1 MSB LSB
....
(MSB/LSB from fader, 7bit)
master vol fader:
E8 MSB LSB
record:
90 5F 01 90 5E 01 90 5E 00
start stop:
90 5F 00 90 5E 30 90 5E 00
toggle big input meters:
90 4A 01 90 4A 00
timeline cursor/transport:
goto 0 : 90 5D 01 90 5D 00
earlier : B0 3C 41
later: B0 3C 03
previous marker: 90 40 01 90 40 00
next maker: 90 41 01 90 41 00
hope it helps

Okey, many thanks for all of the replies. Much appreciated and I'll go give all of this a shot. Sure would be nice if it were a tad more intuitive. Mackie did me a big favor by giving an upgrade for a mere $20. Amazing. Geez, no one seems to ever be this generous anymore! But...it can't be too hard for Mackie to put out a pdf with the midi spec. now can it? : )))
thx again folks.
