Query: SampleTank plug in boxed T2

Does anybody know if the bundled SampleTank plug plays AKAI samples/programs?
(I ask because this could play a role in whether I go for the $20 online upgrade or for the full boxed T2 with rebate.)
Thanks for any help.

I don't think it does from the info in that thread, its kinda frustrating knowing that the program can do it but that import funtion is locked.

LM is right. I have the boxed version(in case you haven't noticed) and I would LOVE to have a full Sampletank, but it's not realistic after thinking about it to give out a full sampler like that for the price. But I am looking into Kontakt 2, which I've played with, and it's the best out there right now(IMO). Plus, I can get it for around $350 since I own EastWest Quantum Leap Symphony Orchestra. But that will still be a while.
Bummer on the Sampletank thing though. But even the version that comes with ProTools doesn't let you load samples in. In fact, mine, which I got this year, still came with Sampletank SE version 1. Oh, well. It still have some good sounds.

Oh well. I thought it was worth a query anyway. I kind of expected that the answer would be no, because it is indeed reasonable that a free plug would be limited in some way, but hope springs eternal.
Anyway, that being the case, I may just go for the $20 downloadable upgrade (saving some $$) and shop around for a separate sample player later. I've already got DR-008, so I don't really need the RMIV; I'm a bass player, so I wouldn't use the bass plug-in; and there are a few free organ plugs floating around, so I could do without the ZR-3. It would be nice to have the Amplitude plug, though; that's really the only thing pushing me toward the boxed version at the moment, given the limits on the SampleTank plug.

To be honest, I think the ZR-3 is still free. You can look it up here on KVR. I think Mackie just rebranded it or something, but I'm not sure.
