Selling T2 and keeping T1

I wish to sell my T2. It is unusable and so far a waste of 20$ despite all I can try. My T1 still works great and the bugs that bother me in T1 are still in T2, despite I have checked to make sure they were being reported.
Hopefully this is the right place to ask, can I keep my T1 and sell only T2? Or am I stuck with T2 because I took the upgrade option?
I dont think it would be bad to wait for fixes. I think the many problems with the software does not deserve my 20$ and wasted time waiting.

I'd definitely wait. That's just me, though. It'd also be pretty tough to sell an upgrade license, I would think, though I'm certainly anyone with any sort of knowledge on that. You can't sell only the T2 portion unless Mackie wants to make an exception and allow you to sell it to a registered T1 user. But that T1 user could buy his/her own for $20, so what are you going to offer to make it worthwhile? $15? Is reclaiming $15 really worth it? Better off just continuing to use T1 if that's where your heart is, but keeping the upgrade to see what comes along later.

I second that, plus you never know what other updates/features may come along in the near future, you may kick yourself later for that pizza money your recouperating

*sigh* It used to be all so easy.
One question. If I was somehow able to locate and buy a copy of T2 and they decided to release a bugfix version, like T 2.1 or something...will they offer it for download? Or will one need to ait for a milestone release and buy the box all over again?

To add to what I've already posted, I don't give that advice as someone with tonnes of cash. I'm a man to whom each dollar matters, but in this case the software is worth more than the $15 if you know what I mean.
It's like computers, when people decide to sell them and realize that they're only going to get $100 for the whole system. It's worth more as a computer (still able to do internet, word pro, whatever) than it is as cash. (until the computer is rendered well and truly useless or redundant)

If they're anything like other software companies, major releases would be boxed, and in-betweeners would be downloadable.audiobot202 wrote:*sigh* It used to be all so easy.

So far they havent been like other companies. They've been better. Wheres the download for Cubase? Reason? Sonar? DP? PT? Logic? Samplitude? Atleast Mackie gave T1 owners that option. And for $20 bux no less!audiobot202 wrote:I think the operative word here is 'if'.AD80 wrote: If they're anything like other software companies

It's not a good life strategy to continually worry about "what ifs". Why on earth would they offer a 2.1 bugfix upgrade as a box? It makes no sense whatsoever. If they offer a bugfix release as boxed only, I'll officially declare Mackie nutso (though that doesn't mean I'll abandon Tracktion... I'm addicted. It's Cracktion.) I don't think it's even worth considering as a possibility.

Seriously, it would be dumb to sell it now.

I'll go look for the thread where dee ess pee describes why T1 works but T2 doesn't.

If it has all the same bugs, then the bugs in T1 cancel out the bugs in T2, but with T2 you get:
64 bit mixing
Sampler
Better loop recording
Track freezing
And...(help me out here guys).
I don't understand why that's not worth $20.
There is the random error of writing incomplete temp files, but I'm sure they're going to get on that soon, and it's easy enough to overcome.
I guess I'm not understanding why such a big gripe against T2 if you like T1.
