Bugfixes can be weird, because companies release a lot of patched versions in between major releases, but sometimes they seem to completely miss or just strangely ignore some of the biggest problems. They are on Gigastudio 3.04 now and they haven't touched some of its most obnoxious issues. 3.1 is coming soon though so many of us are hoping.audiobot202 wrote:*sigh* It used to be all so easy.
One question. If I was somehow able to locate and buy a copy of T2 and they decided to release a bugfix version, like T 2.1 or something...will they offer it for download? Or will one need to ait for a milestone release and buy the box all over again?

So now you're my life coach?Lunch Money wrote:It's not a good life strategy to continually worry about "what ifs". Why on earth would they offer a 2.1 bugfix upgrade as a box? It makes no sense whatsoever. If they offer a bugfix release as boxed only, I'll officially declare Mackie nutso (though that doesn't mean I'll abandon Tracktion... I'm addicted. It's Cracktion.) I don't think it's even worth considering as a possibility.

I've got to get the box before I can worry about anything Lunch ! I keep waiting but no response from my music stores.

That's OK, I'm married to one.Lunch Money wrote:Actually, I AM a life coach.
Don't shoot down common sense just because it comes from me.As mentioned several times, I'm also waiting for the box, so it's not like I'm just smugly giving advice after going to the store for my own box.
Greg
Perhaps I should have attached an emoticon to the statement, that way you wouldn't have seen my words as shooting you down.
Are you smug? I don't know. I hadn't considered the possibility.
I'd love to buy it, but the stores around here know nothing about it.

do not exaggerate with GS 3.04, which although still buggy works very well and is industry standard (matured) software.
Actually, I use it very much with T 2 on same machine (what is against all rules) and never faced any crash (I still can't believe it is possible, but IT IS !)

T2 has a much better MIDI editor, you can automate the faders and everything and set up a template edit (which I have jsut done for using with my lovely new Evolution UC16 controller (bargain off ebay at £41).
You can change the colours - which has a serious impact on my music
And as ron says, it's resizeable, which is nice for when using multiple apps.
I think dee ess pee is having us on!!!

If you really want T2, can't you order from a US online retailer? That's what I would do if I wanted it.audiobot202 wrote:I've got to get the box before I can worry about anything Lunch ! I keep waiting but no response from my music stores.
I ordered GPO from 4beatz (they don't seem to sell Mackie product, but others do I'm sure), they're out of Florida and I'm in Montreal, had the UPS notice glued to my door 4 days after I placed my order and shipping was free. Australia would take a bit more time, but not more than a week or two.

With the exchange rate at the moment, not taking into account any postage costs, it would cost me $194 USD. That's amazing, considering how much extra it would cost me here. Retail in music stores on import goods is piracy over here.

Why do you ask this?AD80 wrote:Are you drunk?dee ess pee wrote:I wish to sell my T2. It is unusable and so far a waste of 20$ despite all I can try. My T1 still works great and the bugs that bother me in T1 are still in T2, despite I have checked to make sure they were being reported.
Hopefully this is the right place to ask, can I keep my T1 and sell only T2? Or am I stuck with T2 because I took the upgrade option?
I dont think it would be bad to wait for fixes. I think the many problems with the software does not deserve my 20$ and wasted time waiting.
