downloaded upgrade vs. boxed. Forked user groups?

Did mackie break us users in two halves by doing this? I personally am the downloadable upgrade path, but do you really think they will be treating us as different users? I mean, seriously, that would really suck if the downloaded users wont be able to upgrade as easy as the boxed users. Sigh. Can someone from mackie at least reassure us? I mean if it really does come down to it, I'll just HAVE to get the boxed. But I don't really want to.
I seriously have never been so anxious about making a freaking little upgrade purchase in my entire life. I mean please mackie let your customers at least know what will be planned??? Please?

I think the $20 price tag for the upgrade if proof enough that they value us. Are you talking about just obtaining updates? or are you thinking of T3?

I highly doubt they would restrict updates to boxed Tracktioneers, relax and get what you need for now, and enjoy!

yeah i can't see anything to get nervous about. we're highly valued users of Tracktion, and they wouldn't have offered us a $20 upgrade if that weren't the case. plus, we got an upgrade to T2 - there's nothing written saying that it's a different license; compare that to the information presented when you obtain an NFR.
i'm confident that we're every bit as important as the boxed users.

Oh jeez, he's not wibbling on about T3 now is he.

Seems to me it might be likely that you'd either be able to upgrade in the future to the full or download version - i'd imagine you kind of choose your path based on how you upgrade now. I guess it depends on what they add as far as new/improved effects/synths in the future. To me though, non of the current added stuff seemed worth it given the extras i already have but that might change in the future and at that time i'd hope to be able to make the choice between the two.

I would assume that it won't make any difference before T3, at which time there could probably be a different upgrade offer.

I doubt there will be different upgrade offers. Mackie can't reassure us now because they obviously have no idea what they are going to do that far in the future! When the upgrade rolls around Mackie will want to sell as many as they can. don't worry!

Somebody mentioned in one of these threads that the forthcoming additions to the Mackie mixing suite (i.e. the Reverb) would be for "full version" upgrades only - i.e. buyers of the box!
I hope this is just speculation. I do agree with Ron this time, though - something "official" would be nice. But it also really bugs me that "official" information is still being dripped out in a variety of threads rather than a clear, explicit position being stated on the Mackie website. The current situation fuels speculation and arguement.

I thought it was said that all 'mackie' brand plugins would be available for the d/l version also?

i just want to personally KNOW that we are regarded at the exact same level as the boxed users. Seriously. I want to know that. Are we still going to be entitled by downloadable updates? Especially with the high priority bugs that were found...
