I have an M-audio Ozone,ibook G4 1.2ghz running OS10.3.9
And every time the ibook is inactive for say an hour or so all audio output dissapears.
It happens on system sound as well as Tracktion.
If I quit all apps and turn Ozone on/off it corrects itself.
Sleep mode is "never" but the screensaver is active.
It feels to me like a core audio problem but trying to get sense out of apple is pointless.
I e-mailed m-audio tech support and await their response but again they'll tell me to use the latest driver "which I'm already doing".
I just thought someone hear might have an idea.
regards

Try this: manually start the screensaver, wait a couple of minutes, and see if the issue appears. At least you'll know if it is connected to the screensaver. Then turn the screensaver off if it is causing the issue. Try putting the display to sleep instead. If you have an LCD, this is better for you screen anyway.

No,its not the screensaver.I'm will try never putting the display to sleep though see if that helps.
My suspicions are the m-audio driver bit it's the latest one so whats a guy to do?
Also forgot to mention that if itunes is a startup item and it boots before the Ozone is turned on it skips like a scratched record until i quit and restart itunes.A shame cus I always liked to go straight to itunes in the morning for some nice music to get me going. Now it's a precise order.
The procedure is ibook boot/Ozone on/itunes start. Any other order causes glitches.
I'm gonna soak test a few older Ozone drivers see what happens.
I'll report back..

So the issue is independent of Tracktion?

Yep..it's not Tracktion and since I upgraded to T2 the midi port doesn't dissapear as often as it did with T1..another annoying glitch that would need me to quit tracktion and switch off the Ozone for a few seconds.
I used to use DP3 and Tracktion is built like a Tank in comparison.
It's either m-audio's driver or core audio.
I really like the Ozone and Love the portability but it's starting to bug me.

One thing I wish T could do would be to allow itself to recognize midi devices connected after it has been running, instead of requiring you to reboot T. Other sequencers do this fine and it's a bit annoying.
