I would like to assign controllers manually in the mapping dialog, not by moving any fader on a controller, because I want to draw the data directly into the midi clip controller panel.
Is that possible ?

MIDI is converted to automation data *before* it reaches the point of being recorded in a clip. Equally, MIDI cc data in a clip will not be converted into automation data by setting up automation mapping.
