Rene has posted that he never intended that song to be included as a demo it was just an internal exercise for Dimension originally done of Rene's 3.0gHz system

rumor has it that for whatever reason Greg H. substituted his own guitar playing for Rene's. in the version that shipped

my 2.4 gHz notebook needs about 200 ms latency to get through it

It is nineteen instances of Dimension. It won't play without breaking up on my machine unless I up the latency to 90mS.
I used the freeze function and watched CPU drop as I did each track on Taboo.
That Freeze is Sweet!

Just checked it out on my laptop (A64 3400). At 23ms latency it peaks at about 78% CPU usage on the onboard soundcard via the ASIO4ALL drivers...

Fancy posting system specs for that guys? Sounds like it makes a decent metric for a systems horsepower?

Sure.

20 MS time for a Athalon FX-51. 1GB of ram.

What's the max CPU it hit?

CPU hit peaked at around 84%

Frooze 7 of them and it came down to 53%

Got my upgrade Tuesday from those nice people at www.etcetera.co.uk and I am very happy with it.

It is a very comprehensive program, I like the midi features, track freeze, arp, etc. I haven't bothered with the groove matrix thingy yet but I will get round to it. It's very stable and reasonably glitchless, with my humble set up at least. Dimension, the sampler is OK but I don't understand what all the hype is about. It's a sampler with a few extra goodies, get over it.

As a DAW junkie, I can recommend it if you are thinking about it

Eek. I'm so sorry, it wasn't Greg Hendershott (Cakewalk CEO), but Jesse Jost (Cakewalk Product Manager and Guitar Player) who replaced the patch. Djeezes how would I explain this now... well, it was nice to work for Cakewalk a few weeks :D

[edit] The reason why the patch was replaced is that the guitar wasn't included in the factory set for Dimension. Here's the 'uncensored' track, in case anyone's curious to know how the original guitar sounded.

Well, "extra goodies" like pristine sound quality and graphic envelopes are enough to get me excited.:)

Plus you may come to find that Dimension is a lot deeper than it might appear at first.

Sorry, I can't get over it. :D

Very high quality, extremly diverse soundset, very light CPU, and INCLUDED FREE with P5 on an $80 upgrade?

WTF you talkin about Willis?!

Please name another VST/DXi host in this price range that ships with an instrument like that? It sure as hell isn't FLStudio or Ableton.

Well, not only do you get the new Dimension Synth, included in P5 2.0's $79.00 upgrade fee, but Cake has also included the Roland GrooveSynth (the MC-303/505 GrooveBox DXi, from Kinetic) and also upgraded some of the existing softsynths (Psyn II & Velocity)with new features and patches/samples too.

....and still no stupid copy protection crap, just a simple serial number @ install. :P

Just the way I like it, great music software that is both affordable & hassle free......the way it is meant to be...... :D

What's the groove matrix like? Any patch on Ableton Live? I'm really interested in what y'all think about it.
