First of all, you have no idea how long it took Jules to code anything, so you can't assume that.
Second, check the upgrade feature lists for apps like Cubase and Logic. Go ahead, and you'll see that they include EVERY little thing they can. Go back, look at the magazine ads that Cubase put out for SX2. It listed them. I'll send a copy to you if you wish. It's just normal. Those who are dissapointed are the ones who expect to have EVERYTHING they wanted.
What I am ashamed of is that some people here can't do anything but gripe and complain and whine, finding something wrong with everything that happens. Actually, I'm not ashamed, but you get my drift. Maybe you think I'm being cruel, but those who complain just drive it into the ground. They just can't be happy. Complain, complain, complain, yada, yada, yada, sheesh!
Get real folks.

I'm not done yet.
Jules is one man who coded more than almost every other dev around can. What respect is shown by constantly griping about his work. Listen, if you don't like the way things are going, then please, do us a favor and leave. If you can't pay compliments at least once in a while about the hard work that Jules does, then stop using his product. If you can't appreciate the thousands of dollars that Mackie has invested in T2, then don't help them pay the bills by buying T2. Really, it gets old.
I'm done for now. But the night is young........

Calm down koolkeys, aida has a point. Marketing folks drive these sorts of lists for sure, and sure everyone does it. But I'd be happy if they just wouldn't do this sort of stuff. I do think that singling out Mackie for doing what every other company does isn't fair, but I don't see how this is an attack on Jules or his coding abilities.

My point is that some people here just can't see good in anything. And if they really are seeing everything as bad, that's fine. But don't come here and gripe every day about what you don't like about the latest happenings. If you have a complaint, fine. But some just find wrong in everything. If I was Jules, I would love a compliment here and there. I don't want to feel that my work was crap.
Sorry, but I'm tired, frustrated, hungry, and I really didn't get anything done tonight. Plus, I'm out of soda and I'm thirsty. So I feel like venting. This is one reason I was gone for a while, and may go again, just to get some stuff done.

koolkeys:
I have the utmost respect for Jules and T has been the best thing that has happened to me studiowise this year. But something I really loves about Raw Material was that it was not run like a "business" prices were fair - communication was open - I really got the sense that Jules was in it to do it. So I think folks just want Mackie to take a page from RM and "keep it real". be open about policy, tell the truth and don't "sell" the product if that means bs-ing the users.
Now the upgrade policy for US users - that was very cool indeed and not like something one would expect from a ham-handed big company. So maybe Mackie are cooler than all that. time will tell.

Nope, not it.
Ok, I got something to eat. But I have to say this. And you can take it with a grain of salt if you'd like.
I used to come here to unwind and occasionally learn something. I had alot of questions. However, over the past year or so, I've learned alot, and spent alot of money to do so. So I want to help others here in response to the help I've been given. So I've done my best. I still learn something all the time, but it's not easy to unwind here now. Anyone who has been around for a while will know that this place was never as bad as it has been lately. People expressed concerns, people helped each other, etc.
But recently, it's nothing but Mackie bashing and the such. When T2 was finally released, it toned down a bit. But it just seems to me that some people complain so much here that they just can't appreciate anything that's done. And that annoys me, as I've learned how good it feels to be thanked and appreciated. It's an ego boost for me to hear someone say thanks. I think anyone can understand and relate to that.
But when some people come here and have one gripe after another, it just seems that they can't even TRY to be positive. Do I hate them? No, I don't know them. I'm sure they are the nicest folk around. But if I was Jules and came here to read how things were going after spending the better part of four years of my life perfecting my little baby, and done what I think is best to support myself and whatever family or bills I have by signing a deal with Mackie, then it would kinda sting a bit to see gripes. Yeah, you gotta learn to deal with it, but after a while, it just gets old.
If my words are offensive to anyone, I apolagize, as my intentions were merely to vent. However, I don't apolagize for being frustrated. I just want to see things get back to where they were when I joined this community.
So for my venting, don't take it TOO seriously. But for my concerns, and my underlying motives, please try and see this. Hey, I don't like everything Mackie has done, and I have my complaints here and there, but I want to make sure to show more respect than otherwise.
Aldi, I apolagize for attacking, but it wasn't directly at you, just at the state of this place.
Now, I must get back to work, after a terribly long day of work(ugh!), cause I've gotten nothing done tonight for a session I have on Monday. Maybe I shouldn't spend much time here.

Just because you're married doesn't mean it's there when you want it. She isn't a couch or a toaster. And there is that monthly visitor...koolkeys wrote:I'm married, so it's there when I want it. It's just been a long day.......

Ah, the monthly visitor. Point taken. No disrespect to my wife of course with the above statements. But for this case, that wasn't my problem. Speaking of a couch, when we reached a certain savings limit, I was to get my Motif ES8 and she would get furniture. Well, the new couch we got two months ago feels great, but I still can't play the keyboard that doesn't exist.........

OK, time for me to come up with a bit of hilarity to lighten the mood. Hold your nose, everyone, I'm not good at this...
"Braj, I think your getting laid idea is #6 on Beno's list."*
*Please refer to said list on Page 1.
My wife just came home with pizza and beer--I'll leave the rest to your imaginations.

Yeah, women always want that 'hold' don't they? I always figure it's time to check my email. Since I quit smoking anyway.
