If i have a midi clip 'open' for editing in a track somewhere, each time i split an audio clip on a different track, the midi edtor toolbar appears for about a second (then hides itself again)..
edit: the midi toolbar also apears whenever i
*zoom
*scroll
*delete audio clips..
(The toolbar also appears over the top of the rackfilter pane if its open, depending on the screen position of the track that the editor belongs to, and the sizing of the rackfilter panel.)

I find it a bit annoying myself. I wish there were more user control over the placement and when/how long it is displayed.

as far as i can see there's no reason it should appear unless you mouse over a midi clip.

Also, if you have a midi clip on a track zoomed, then delete it... a mini ghost midi editor keeps appearing on that track after you reduce it... 
What the? Sometime's I think this thing is possesed!
