Urs,
The filter sounds so good when you switch the EQ to filter in Filterscape, I was wondering whether there was a way to isolate just the Filter using the EQ section?
Or, would it be possible to have the same option in Filterscape EQ as in Filterscape (switching the EQ to filter?).
Thanks,
Looking forward to the final release!!!
Any news???

Hmmm, I must admit I have forgotten why Q6 does not have the Filter modes. I think it was mostly because the filtering modes are parallel while the eq modes are serial processing. Yes, that was it...anti-banausic wrote:Urs,

To make 4 parallel bandpasses/filters *controllable* for musically useful results was pretty hard already because they have so much overlap in their passbands. Making 6 parallels useful would have meant to add more stages/poles for steeper passband. This would double the cpu consumption and it would require to take measures to do some reasonable phase correction... which would've been even more expensive on cpu.
The eq modes do not suffer from any such problems. Even though their influence on the spectrum overlaps, the fact that they process in series doesn't introduce phase cancellations.
Hmmm, but that's just the theory I cooked up in my brain when planning the 6-banded version. There's a good chance that I'll at least try something...
News btw. is, I had some frustrating days with some technical issues that prove less trivial than I thought. And hehe, I've taken a full day off yesterday

A full day off? That is unmentionable.
No, really good for you! You deserve it.
Looking forward to the final release.
