That would be entirely expected.

There have been a number of reports of the MacOS having a less responsive UI performance than the PC version. As such, this may not be related to your particular problem.

In general reports of sluggish UI peformance are infrequent on the PC platform, which suggests that there must be some commonality between those machines that exhibit it. Though I'll be damned if I can see what it might be. :(

This is so stupid...but of those PC platform machines with the sluggish UI is the XP 'Gumdrop' wannabe Mac interface option turned on?

Well, it was a lot worse with HT off at say 50% CPU load than I was previously experiencing in my normal projects at a similar CPU level, so I thought I'd mention it in case it threw some light on the situation, but anyway it seems this was just due to the way I've got my system set up and so it probably doesnt.

I have a friend who also uses Tracktion sometimes, but has Logic Express 7 and uses it more. He said he had the same problem I had, after upgrading to T2. He would go back to using LE7 because of the stuttering in T2. I have to say that it is not working well enough as it is now for me NOT to revert to T1. I really hope this is fixed soon, or at least a reason given as to what is the problem with the sluggish interface on OSX.

Not sure about the others, but mine is set to use Windows Classic.

It's really not that stupid.

Oh shit, I'm getting problems too. :( I noticed with the demo that the GUI was sluggish, but was more concerned with other problems (e.g. getting my controller to work/map in T2 - thanks for the help with that, everyone 8) )

Anyway, now I have bought T2 (download version) I set to work doing some recording in T2... and this is what happened:

1. I opened an old edit taht Iwas working on before in T1 and it took over a minute for four audio clips to redraw! :o In T1 it was virtually instantaneous.

2. The GUi was very sluggish indeed, and as other have reported, the meters were not reliable without a decent refresh rate.

3. I got stuttering audio on the recording which I suspect may have been related to the difficulties my laptop was having with the graphics. Even after an hour of trying to edit and clean it up in Adobe Audition didn't completely remove the click/pops.

4. There were also a couple of "jumps" in the recording (I simply had to redo those bits, but this would not do in a live recording setting!)

5. Probably unrelated, but I also experienced some bad latency problems, which I have not experienced in T1 or Live 4. I experimented with the latency setting on the soundcard to try and find a balance between eliminating the click/pops from the recording and having a workable latency.

This is serious :(

If it helps, my specs are: Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D laptop, P4 2.8 Ghz, 512 Mb, 60Gb, Radeon 9000 graphics card, WinXP SP2. I was using my old Edirol UA-20 for the recording (for the mobility).

Throughout the session, the CPU meter did not rise above 50%. None of the tracks clipped.

Please Help :help:

What happens when you toggle the ASIO Direct Mode?

Don't know if anyone saw the thread i started, but the sluggish GUI seems to be related to the colorscheme. I used the classic colorscheme until today but when i switched to AndrewSimon's excellent scheme, the sluggish behavior was totally gone.

I'll leave it to you tech-heads to figure out what the problem is :D .
Buy Darling Sister's new album "Rise and fall" now! Just send a pm or an email. Visit our myspace page on www.myspace.com/darlingsister for songsamples.

Interesting... no I didn't see that before.

For what it's worth, then I'm using the skin called "Pady Casual"... which incidentally I really really like

I'm doing some more recording tonight (working on backing tracks for a collection of kiddy songs... the "Times Tables" ).

...so I'll try your suggestion then and see if it helps any.

Thanks,

I tried changing the colour-schemes and it didnt help at all. I went through at least 10 different colourschemes without luck. So, I can rule out that this is NOT the problem on OSX. Well, for me at least.

Can anyone confirm which of the preset schemes are OK to use?
