How do you like the boxed plug-ins?

How do people like the Sampletank SE? Does it provide some upgrade path to the full version?
How about the other plug-ins? I am deciding whether they will be of use to me (leaning towards getting it, already have the downloaded T2) and would like some feedback.
Thanks!

I don't have it, but messing with a friend's RMIV I'm pretty impressed. I think Slayer 2 would be good to have in your 'tool box' as well. ST I've never been in love with
Amplitube is great, but I have the full version already. If you don't, I think it is a great value, even if you don't play guitar. It can do a lot for a lead or bass sound. to make them seem more organic.

I like Slayer a lot actually. Ofcourse if you already play the guitar its probably not gonna impress you too much. But for a non guitarist, its pretty damn cool. A lot of possibilities. RMIV is great also. Especially the kits. I wish I could load the waves in Battery2 which I also own. I havent tryed Sampletank SE becuase I already own SonicSynth. The Bismark sf player is nice aswell. Its a good deal IMHO.

It's easy enough to load up wavs in RMIV isn't it?AD80 wrote:. I wish I could load the waves in Battery2 which I also own.
thought you could preview different wavs on the fly also?

I think he wants to use the RMIV samples in Battery. I personally would rather have RMIV than Battery (which I do have). It's wasy to mix your drums right in RMIV, Battery (1 at least) just isn't as nice IMO.diverdee wrote:It's easy enough to load up wavs in RMIV isn't it?AD80 wrote:. wasy was supposed to be 'way easy' but I'm still coming down from 1992.braj wrote:I think he wants to use the RMIV samples in Battery. RMIV is one of the best drum synths out there... But you do have to program your own patterns with it, although the midi clips will get you started. Sampletank 2 LE does not seem to like T2, (or vice versa) I'm getting a lot of screen glitching, and the knobs spin wildly when trying to do some editing... That's the OSX version though, and ST2 LE works fine in Logic so I don't know? I've asked about it, but no word from Sonic Reality, or Mackie. Slayer is pretty cool, and Amplitude is nice, but hey, they're not going to make your studio... I have found little use for the MDA stuff myself, although some people swear by them... I prefer the T plugs to the MDA stuff?? The Mackie stuff though is really nice, that's worth the price alone!!
I'd look at the package as the App with the Mackie Mastering stuff and a good Drum synth... I already had ST2 LE, RMIV, and Beast... But still looks good as a package

Pretty cool, and if you can, get Gort's SF collections at Hammersound!! They are great! (even though I have a ton of EMU stuff

Yeah, I wish I could use the RMIV kits in Battery but I can understand why they didnt let me.braj wrote:I think he wants to use the RMIV samples in Battery. PS: I'm talking Battery 2.0. The best drum sampler out. Period.

I still prefer my DR-008 with Slicey and Fill-in. I've tried Battery, and seen the improvements in version 2, and for me, it's just no contest. Maybe I'm just used to my setup, and yes, there are some good additions to version 2, but it just doesn't seem as flexible for me. Kontakt 2 on the other hand, drooooollll........
DR-008 was just so far ahead when it came out that others are just recently catching up, even still missing some features that DR-008 has. Besides main features, there's 3GB of kits(over 300), plus hundreds of MIDI files, and more. Plus, with Slicey and Fill-In, that's just power you won't find anywhere else. I do program my own drum beats, but when I need options and power, I'm there.

"some good aditions" ? Its basically everything that people have been requesting for Battery 1 for years. I think you should give it a second look.koolkeys wrote:I still prefer my DR-008 with Slicey and Fill-in. I've tried Battery, and seen the improvements in version 2, and for me, it's just no contest. Coming from a MPC2000xl background and programming my own beats, theres nothing better than Battery 2.0. The interface is just to damn awsome. The mapping, the routing, the built in filters compression and EQ, the mapping flexibility, the way it handles cells, everything is solidly designed for ease of use. It doesnt have midi effects like slicy drummer and fill in drummer but I wouldnt use those anyways. I really think the layout of Battery 2 is far superior to Dr008.
