Could someone please enumerate the included plugins that are included in the boxed version but not in the download version? I'm trying to figure out if the retail version is worth it for ME, and having a difficult time figuring out that additional plugins list.

Thanx ahead,
BRiaN

just incase noone answers, get hold of the download version (i.e. the demo) and look at the plugins you get with it (if it's not already installed on your computer). you should play with the demo first anyway before you buy it to get a feel for it so you'd not be wasting your time.

just look at the ones you get (the mackie ones) with the demo, and look at the list of plugs on the website. all the rest are in the box!
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

heh, what REALLY sucks that I haven't noticed anyone complaining about is that they were giving away a free license for T1 (found this via Electronic Musician, methinks) a while back, and if you have this FREE license, you can get $30 off the retail box. So, total cost of ownership for folks who got a free license is retail - $30, while it's retail + $20 for people with a paid T1 license.

I don't think that they clearly have, actually

1. We were told that T2 would be sold "out of the box" and that it would include all the plug-ins shown in the advertising.

2. The promise was that the cost of T1 ($80) plus upgrade to T2 would be less than the full cost of T2 ($200).

This can only be acheived by giving registered T1 owners a rebate greater than $80.

Being "international" I don't yet know what the rebate will be, but it has been confirmed by Mackie people on this forum that the best-case scenario is a rebate equal to the US one, i.e. $60.

So on that basis, Mackie have in fact dishonoured their promise to all of us, whether in the US or elsewhere.

However, and this is the part where it goes "grey"... the $20 upgrade option is an absolutely awesome offer, for which I am sincerely grateful (as I don't particularly want those specific plugs).

You just haven't looked very hard have you? :hihi:

guess not! :P

so, the (non-free) plugins over and above the download version are:

RM IV (is this a T2 only version?)
SampleTank SE
Amplitube LE
Slayer2
bs-1 Soundfont Player

Is this correct?

You also get a special version of the ZR-3 organ synth, and the Pad synth, which is just Cheeze Machine, as well as Hexaline and a couple others which are free.

But also, it's been stated in ads that there are most to come, like a channel strip and a reverb, that you can only get if you have the boxed version, according to Beno.

I was the first to get the boxed version and have had a chance to play with it quite a bit on Mac and PC. It's a no-brainer for me, really. But it all comes down to what you need.

And yes, the RMIV is a Tracktion only version. It wouldn't make sense to make any of the non-free plug-ins available in another host, or the developer would lose money.

Hey koolkeys!

Do you have a link to where Beno said this?

Does this mean that the Reverb and Channel Strip will only be available IN the box - i.e. to future boxed version customers?

...Or are Mackie going to start differentiating on the website between recent comers who bought Tracktion off the shelf, and those of us longer term loyal Tracktioneers who have had the program since v1... and exclude us from the new Mackie plugs and updates? How about bugfixes?

I really wish that Mackie would have the courtesy and decency to lay this all out clearly and honestly. :?

I was under the impression that the download version customers were entitled to all non-third party (i.e. mackie) plugins.
I'm pretty sure that is the info Beno or someone else mackie afilliated posted here.

That was what I thought too... when I purchased the download version ...

Can somebody confirm?

I heard that only NFR costumers who upgraded to T2 WITHOUT the $30 rebate will be able to use the Mackie Channel Strip. But the Mackie Reverb will be available to everybody who upgraded to T2 before Feb of 2005 but also bought the boxed version and lives outside the US.

Just shows that the confusion continues, and in the absence of a formal policy statement the rumour grinder is on turbo-overdrive.

Come on Mackie - get a grip will you ?

What's happening in Europe and the Rest of the World regarding rebates ? At least tell us that paying for the $20 upgrade will not invalidate any rebate should one ever transpire.

Please
