My T2 box has been in the country since 7.11 am this morning - and the DHL guys didn't show all day! And me cleaning up the studio and polishing my UC-33 controller just to be ready for the big event!

You can bet your sweet whatever that the moment i step out to do some shopping tomorrow, that's when they'll be around trying to deliver... they could just as well chuck it in the regular mail, then at least you wouldn't feel compelled to hang around the house all day. :bang:

Yours in frustration,

the guy with no patience left

Buggers...give em a bell again just to make sure they'll be calling on the day....always the way after a good tidy and sort and they blow it...."sods law",nothing more annoying and frustrating.

Dare I say absence makes the heart get fonder  ....enjoy T2 when it comes..your in for a treat
. :)

Meanwhile, I've been having a go at making my first T2 templates for the UC-33...

Nice templates!

BTW, FedEx says my UC33 is waiting for me at home! Schweet!

Got the UC33, it's awesome! Once I figured out you needed to drag the input to a track just like any other controller (duh) I was up and running with the Pro-53 template. Funny how this thing has templates for some of my most used plugs (B4 and Pro-53 are almost in every edit!).

Pethu, I hope you get your T2 really soon!

One more great thing about the UC33 is they sent me the 'e' model! $165 is a good price for this IMO. Also, it came with Live4 Lite and since I'm mostly using it with only a few tracks rewired into T, I'm going to sell Live4 to a friend probably. So this was an all around great deal for me.

It's all in place now... no more excuses for not making the best music in the world... time for a second Aaaargh! :-o

Anyway, here's a piccie of the UC33 in my little bedroom studio, all dressed up in its new T2 clothes:

After much deliberation, I took a small flat brush and gently dabbed the top of each knob with just a dash of Humbrol Matt Aluminum paint - instant coloured arrows!

(Yes, that's a Mackie 1202 VLZ mixer in the background. I had good taste even in the days before Tracktion.)

That's pretty sweet! Unfortunately, I'm running into major feng shui issues with my 'studio' both hardware and software. I sold my three tier keyboard stand before I moved and now regret it. And also I'm finding T2's way of mapping midi just a bit confusing and limited (no presets to save to). But I fired up Live4 and that is sweet, it works marvelously with the UC33. Instant gratification, I really wish T2 had implemented midi cc mapping something more like Live, where you get a really good graphical reference to what your controller is mapped to. It took me one minute to map it in Live, it took 15 in Tracktion and I still wasn't happy with it. There is still no way to handle the transport without reverting to third party apps, which I'd rather not do. Oh well, T3 maybe. But I've just decided not get rid of Live4.

if you have energyXT you can make your own mapping presets for your plugins, just wrap them in an eXT and save that as a preset. you do have to point your midi device at that particular track, but then the only way you'd possibly be able to make mapping presets would be to have that approach:

Tracktion currently has a 'global' cc mapping system that lies outside of tracks, and communicates directly with a plugin instance. If you were to be able to save a preset of the mapping, then as soon as you've added more than one instance of a plugin the mapping system would not work. The other method would require track-based mapping in order to get the right plugin, but even then you may have more than one instance of an effect, which would also require a different mapping. it's definitely not something that can be easily solved.
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.
