In one of the other threads I realized (after a few humorous / surprised comments) that I apparently was the only person using Tracktion without a mousewheel. (And probably the only one that knew that you can do zooming in/out with the arrow keys ;)).

Thanks for the advice, this feels soooo much better...

My new mouse

congratulations! My other RollerMouse arrived the other day..

What does the mouse ball thing do in Tracktion? Looks quite funky
"my gosh it's a friggin hardware"

The ball does nothing special. It's like a trackball, I don't move the mouse but just move that ball instead. More relaxed for my arms and shoulders that way :)

Does T2 work better with 2 rollermice?

Post

 no, I just don't have to take one home from work every day!

I almost bought that one yesterday after some serious consideration... but I folded under the pressure of familiarity, and got the Logitech Mx500. I remapped all the buttons so now it's a T2 weapon. :D

I use another (older) Logitech trackball ("marble mouse"...) and love it to bits. No more achey knuckles.

The ball is great with vsts, so easy to click a knob then spin the ball, much easier than a mouse imo.

Do miss a scroll wheel though.

Scroll wheels rock.

I used to have a Marble Mouse too, until this afternoon... And I have one at work too... but now I have both :D.

A Tracktion user without a scroll wheel is like a bride without a white dress ... or something like that...

... the trackball is a tad small (with a small 'throw') but the ergonomics and programmable buttons make it pretty usable so far ...

Neato! I couldn't find an ergonomic solution for my mousing needs (nobody in Ottawa seems to be stocking trackballs with a scrollwheel) but I grabbed a natural keyboard. They're not for everybody, but it fits like a glove for me. I'm much happier with it already than I was with my standard keyboard.

Programmable buttons will make it Tracktion-friendly, too, when I get around to it. :D

A wireless version of Rob's little hand-held thingy there would be the ultimate, as long as the wireless was reliable.

you cant even get hold of micro$oft gear in canuckland ?!?

... used to use one of these ..

... but the surface of my little sofa-front laptop trolley is too low to make using it comfortable (the lappie itself sits on a raised stand) so the handheld option is cool ... might be useful for my interactive whiteboard at school too (though i think trust also do a wireless version with a laser pointer built in for that kind of work) ...

Can't get a hold of them, nope. Sure, people stock Microsoft gear (the keyboard is a Microsoft), but trackballs must not be heavy movers, because I haven't found a place that stocks them. Future Shop, Best Buy, and other large places don't seem to, and a few of the smaller retailers I've talked to don't stock them, either.

Does anybody know if they make a mouse that is mouth controlled? Like I could put a little controller in my mouth and have both hands free to play keys or type stuff? If not, then I'm gonna invent one so dont try to steal my idea.
