i just noticed that at
http://www.musiciansfriend.com
it seems that when you buy t2 you get bbe sonic maximizer thrown in as well - doesn't seem like such a bad deal.

the only problem is t2 is out of stock there at the moment and the shipping charges seem a little more expensive than other stores.

i'm such a miser that i'm still going to hold out for the time being to see if i can find a better deal. ~$100 after rebate plus shipping is still a sizable outlay for me :?

Bloody hell. The actual link is here ...

They're selling T2 at $149, and giving you BBE Sonic Maximiser as a free gift. With the Mackie $60 rebate that makes T2 actually cost $89, and Sonic Maximiser on it's own costs $129.99

Oh, and the stock is due in TODAY.

Wonder if they'll ship to the uk?

Unfortunately, no!

Due to manufacturer restrictions, we are currently unable to ship outside of the United States. Exceptions to this policy (some restrictions apply for these destinations): Puerto Rico, US Military addresses (i.e. APO and FPO addresses) and locations outside the U.S. that use a U.S. Postal ZIP Code, such as Guam and the Virgin Islands, etc. We can also ship Rogue, Axman and Pulse brand products to Canada. Other restrictions may apply. For more information, you may call us at 1-800-391-8762 within the U.S. or 1-801-501-9551 outside the U.S.

Another nail in the coffin of the 'global market'.

ok - the miser is back.

i just rang 'full compass' and they are selling T2 for $117 + shipping ($7 to new york). so after rebate = $64 for me.

hmmm... which deal is the better choice?

There has never been a global market and there never will be one, as the principles of capitalism are unsustainable on that scale. Sooner people realise that, the better.

Would be nice to get that offer though ... ;)

I'm tempted.

GC still doesn't have T2 in stock, so I'm just as happy to mail it order it at this point.

I wonder if that BBE plug is any good...
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

i was searching the forums last night and most of the posts i read about BBE were positive - just 'use it sparingly' seemed to be the general consensus.

i've gotten by without it so far though... hmmm

Hmmm...
I have to say that this is one of the most interesting statements I have heard on here... But I do agree...

I'm desperately trying not to turn this into a political debate, but it seems to me the 'global market' is a bit of a one way street.

It appears that it's all well and good for a manufacturing company to use offshore labour to keep their manufacturing costs down (e.g. Nike products are made in the Far East) but those savings in cost are not passed back to the country concerned. In the meantime, the manufacturers own country loses out in terms of employment, taxes, GNP, etc.

For example, a lot of American software houses farm out their coding to India - but Indian nationals can't buy the software at the price being asked in the USA - they pay a premium for software which was coded just around the corner.

...or they buy it on the street for $5 burned on a CD :o Well, in China and Vietnam at least.

I think, you hit the nail. Globalism has become the new strategy to exploit third world countries and their resources (in this case manpower).
Unfornunately everybody is accepting it as the only way to feed the never ending hunger of capitalism.

The good point: There is a limit, unless they find extraterritorians, which might have lower salaries.

BTW: I like the way how a price rebate can turn into a revolution :-)....
