i get the remnants of whats in the buffer when i go to play back from the start of an edit....alot.

if there was a dump button of sorts, it would be good.

is there already something like this in play?

You sure that does it Tingle? I though I pretty much kept e-to-e on. Dunno

doesn't do it for me. I also get the buffer when I undo after recording a clip. Its a buglet.

I don't know why it's not always cleared?!

Post

i believe it should clear if you move the cursor between stopping and playback.

if you stop playback, when you play again it should ideally keep what was in the buffer so that the whole sound at that point would be correct as if it were played from the beginning. If you move the cursor tho, the buffer should be emptied as it would no longer be relevant to playback.
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

Seems reasonable to me

i still think it's a bug. I get this a lot even when i've moved the cursor back to the start of the track (really annoying if i forget the e-to-e clicking "trick", and render an edit, only to find i've got a whole load of unwanted crap in the first 2 seconds). Are you saying if i manually move the cursor - rather than using the rewind-to-start button, then it'll clear the buffer? if so, i'll do that in future, but i still think its not always getting cleared when it should.

Oh, i'm talking about T1 - not sure what happens in T2

sorry, what i meant was "i believe that this is how it should work" - i.e. i hope this method is implemented soon

it doesn't currently work like that at the moment

of course Haydn is right. Although I kind of like hearing the buffer shoot off for no reason sometimes!

Ahh, sorry, my mistake. What you're suggesting sounds sensible :)

I complained about this about 2 years ago (very early on) and Jules explained what was going on technically, but he didn't act like it was an issue. I don't know about you guys but I find it very annoying. I'm still not used to pushing play in an empty measure and hearing a big loud reverb tail come blasting though. Beno please ask Jules to fix this.
