I don't know you personally Mr. WilliamK, but let a German judge tell you one thing: What you've just done there is a crime (fraud) here in Germany. And I'm quite sure this can't be legal in the rest of the civilized world. However, it's a real shame to see that there are still people who are willing to defend your modus operandi. If you lived here in Germany you'd face a fine or up to 5 years in prison, no matter if you're a good programmer or not. In this case I only have one good advice for you: Quit business. Otherwise there would be no good reason for probation...

It's called fraud and it's punishable by jail time. You better hope that one of your customers didn't copy these threads and take it to their local District Attorney. From what I've read on here, you've given them all the evidence they would need for a conviction. All they have to do is subpoena the records off this server. Just because you removed the threads from view doesn't mean they're gone.

You best plan would be to sell your car, your house, whatever it takes, to pay these people back as fast as you can. You won't need any of those things in prison. And just saying, "Oops, I'm sorry!", won't cut it in a court of law.

When you started taking money, it stopped being just for fun. Sorry you came to this place in life, but you need to face reality.
