Hmmm...hugely oversimplified paper-napkin speculative cost analysis follows....
1. Assume "Multimillion dollar" equals 2 million.
2. Assume USD $149 per copy
3. That's about 13,400 copies.
Possible I guess, but it seems a bit of a reach to me. Goofy online promo movies and pretty magazine ads do NOTHING to address the rendering, midi timing, and other serious bugs reported here by pros and non-pros alike. People demand usability AND stability AND sonic perfection. Yes, even for a buck and a half.
n.b. in my opinion.

its in the same vain as the pants tool which I believe is both Jules's and Philips sense of humour, so I guess its a chip off the old block in terms of style.

I suppose I have no choice but to believe that you have a list of bugs, but I assure you that I'd never encounter them on my own-- which doesn't necessarily mean that they're not important, but simply means that they can hardly be considered "crippling".Additionally, other more well-known programs (audio and otherwise) are much much buggier, but yet they're used in professional situations daily.

Is there a formula that a company has to follow when doing this? If companies all took the same approach to marketing then it wouldn't be very interesting. Besides, it is their marketing policy, and you just use the application. Still, I'm sure your opinion is important to Mackie, and they'll give your views as much attention as the views of those who don't consider this to be an issue.lharless wrote:thats right it's just a video....
